Out of all the things that I saw at the RNC, and all the pictures I saw of the RNC, this is pretty high up on my list of wonderful moments. Nice shot friend.

staged, yeah, all those cops are really his friends and he just called them all up and told them to come pose for a pic, and they did, in full riot gear. Not to mention the military soldier as well.
C'mon man, you're an idiot.

The kiss was staged you moron, the police and national guard were all there for very legitimate reasons, its the damned protesters who cause issues etc, get a life

creepingninja In reply to IceAngel08 [2009-04-27 14:26:35 +0000 UTC]
So that makes it a bad picture why?
Staged or not, it shows a great emotion and lovely contrast.
It is our duty as American citizens to protest against our government when they are acting against the will of the citizens. This is why the right to bear arms was written into our constitution. Not so much to defend against invasion, but instead, to defend against our own government should the need arise.
I don't understand why you feel the need to negatively comment the work of someone else, and flame others who are supporting, or like it. If you do not like it, why not just move on and keep your opinion to yourself? The poster did not ask in the artist comments if you thought it was dumb or not.
I hope that you soon find yourself in a college classroom, and are further educated in American history, as well as perhaps learning some basic etiquette and class.
It's easy to be an asshole on the other side of a computer screen, but would you act like such a bastard in person? Either way, I am sure you're such a well balanced and well mannered person, you certainly come across that way.
You don't need to tell me about the national guard, and their mission. I myself served in the Army for several years, and am now a disabled veteran as a result. If you want to support them so much, then sign up yourself, and offer up your own life for this country.

How conceited are you, isn't freedom of speech also a constitutional right? Last I checked i am merely exercising my rights as a citizen to say what i feel. I feel a need to defend my beliefs and i suppose a i may have seen this a misdirected my anger against people who have been slandering the police who worked the riots, for that i will apologize.
And I am currently going through AFROTC and more than willing to risk my life for my country, please don't judge what you don't know.

creepingninja In reply to IceAngel08 [2009-07-01 18:10:08 +0000 UTC]
It is absolutely your right, and I support that right. I just mean to say you could do it with some class or purpose. There was no reason to be so nasty to the artist for no reason, it's the whole, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." This person did not voice anything against the police or riot guards, so you did not need to take out your anger on the artist.
I'm glad to hear you are going through the AFROTC, I hope that they will teach you the discipline you so far seem to lack, as well as respect for others, all others, not just the ones that you have the same mentality or beliefs as you.
Good luck in the program, and thank you for the apology and seeing that you may have misdirected your anger. Also thank you for being willing to serve your country, I know it's not an easy choice to make, and it's a very hard life style, but they will train you well, don't worry. Just remember, through it all, even in the worst of times, push yourself, and never give up. You will amaze yourself to see how much you can grow as a person, and even more surprised with what you are actually capable of doing when you push yourself harder than you ever have. You'll see.
I have no intentions of arguing or even debating with you beyond this. I simply wish you the best, and thank you for your opinions. As a fellow service member, I will call you my sister in arms and bid you good luck in life. Take care.

our school gave up on teaching American history in the classroom, no one cared...
of course, i live in Australia, and many american issues and customs are not appropriate here.
i'm not trying to insult many americans out there (i know i will, i just have that knack), nor am i defending Iceangel08, but what if they had not been american? you cannot expect everyone to understand. to the rest of the world, americans are seen as this strange country people try to avoid, but i know myself that not all americans are so.
you yourself could a nice person, but making assumptions of people is just not right.
i apoligise to everyone i may have insulted, but freedom of speech i believe is something you are familiar with.

Well, the person was in the US, which is why I brought it up in the first place. I would not expect a person not from the US to know as much, but still, I do understand your point.
Thank you.
Peace and love.

i'm glad that you appreciate that others may not understand, it's is the un-accepting people of the world that destroy the fragile balance of peace.
thank you.

Sadly, a college classroom is no longer the place to learn about our history or the Constitution.

I double majored, one of which was in history, and I actually learned quite a bit. I guess it depends on what school you go to though.
I know what you mean though...

I guess I should modify my statement... it's not always the best place to learn it.
I was fortunate, too, with one of my history teachers.

You're probably right, I'm sorry, I was just a little defensive for the artist I guess. But you're right, it was uncalled for. So I'm sorry for the idiot comment, but still not sorry for thinking the person saying what he said was also not right. Fair?

creepingninja In reply to subtronik [2009-04-27 14:28:21 +0000 UTC]
Now I don't think it was a mistake at all, considering that the original insulter decided to once again show how classy she is and spew more negativity. I retract my apology and still think this person is an idiot.
