I overheard someone point out the same thing in the crowd, I just didnt know what that was getting at. People suspected him to be a person put there to cause trouble.

I think it's an expression from the American Civil War (not 100% sure). Someone declared that all abolitionists should go to hell in a handbasket. It seems like an environmentally friendly way to travel, no doubt environmentalists have been issued a circle of hell

He was walking around reading the necronomicon, speaking in tounges, and trying to pick a fight. I think he was a plant from the police so they would have a reason to come in and break up the protest. He ended up getting "arrested", no one fought with him.
