Sorry about the HUGE size, but any smaller, and the quality would have sucked too much, for my liking. I know I said I would finish my Kasumi pic (see scraps section) next, but yanno when you just suddenly get struck by a huge bolt of inspiration, and you just HAVE to make the pic right away? Well, I've put Kasumi on hold, in favour of this brand new Hitomi (again).

As much as having their hair down is easily my favourite hairstyle for girls, I can't help but think what she'd look like with it in different styles, from time to time. We only ever see it down, so I thought I'd alter her look a bit, and give her a ponytail, for this one. I've also taken off the top of her karate gi, which she normally wears as part of her DOA3 costume 2 outfit. I like how you can still quite easily tell it's her though, even just by looking at her face. Incidently, if it looks a little different, perhaps more accurate than usual, then I admit I got some help with it, via other CG's. Just to get a better idea of her facial structure, as its about the one area, in general, that I'm not always happy with, when sketching Hitomi. I'm going to practise it some more in the near future, so keep an eye on my scraps, for that.

The sketching went along quite smoothly, but the CG'ing for the skin in particular was a fairly long, arduous process. After deciding that what I originally had sucked majorly, I worked over it, and made it more smooth, and the end result is pretty cool, I think. Notice this time I've used different colour outlines for the different areas of her, as opposed to all black. Works alot better, in the end. I've also picked up a few new tricks, as I usually do with major CG's like this. For instance, the gymnasium flooring in the background was achieved through a clever patterning/perspective transformation technique that should come in very handy, in the future.

I have a few small gripes. The lighting is ok, but I think maybe it's a little TOO light. Considering the background, anyway. Looks quite nice on her hair, though. A few of the outlines, particularly on her left arm are a bit weak and pixelly, and I'm starting to think I may have made her boobs a bit too big.. is it just me or is there ALWAYS something slightly wrong with her boobs, when I draw them? o.O

It also just feels like there's something missing. I don't know what, just some magical quality, perhaps. Anyway, all that aside, I'm very pleased with it. It's nice to see her ready to kick some ass again, after that little "snuggly" moment in my previous pic. ^^

Aaaand, look at that. I've waffled on too much again. Sorry, but you must know everything about it!.. If you can be bothered to read it all. I'll shut up now, except to say that this pic broke a personal record, with 28 Photoshop layers x.X.
