I did this using Oriental Art Supply's plum tree lesson on fine line painting with shading tutorial.It's a fun little lesson, and I liked the results well enough I'm thinking of using the same sort of technique for some paintings of my own. I really had fun with how the shadows could be deepened.
This was done with ink and watercolor on Glass paper (heavily sized hand-drawn paper)

Yeah.. it's making me really think about layers of shadow and color and shade, and how to represent things forward and back and how things lie relative to each other. It's an extremely detailed version of what I've been doing up to this point, but thinking about pine trees "sinuous like dragons" is fun.
