Description
I decided to join the weekly Imagine FX challenge at the last minute. 14 hours later, here we are!I would have tweaked things more, but this was a rushed piece. Looked at some mannequin ref for this one. Hope you like the concept. The theme was "control".
EDIT: This piece won the weekly challenge and was the overall winning forum image of the month. It is featured on page 30 of issue 61 of ImagineFX Magazine.

The thing I like most about this piece is the eyes. I think it really makes the title interesting. See, I'd normally just assume that the human in the image is in control because, well, the robot doesn't seem like its capable. The eyes seem to say otherwise. I think it is because her glasses are opaque, and the robot's eyes have this intensity to them. To me, somehow, this seems to bring back the phrase "in the land of the blind man, the one eyed man is king," and somehow makes me doubt that all is as it seems. This piece is great.

I actually have issue 61 and saw this featured in it! Great work btw! Bought it last week from Barnes & Noble. I like the simplicity of the piece as well as the lighting and the limited color palette.
I eventually want to try the Imagine FX challenge myself. I should study more.

I don't know how to explain the man's facial expression, it's creepy yet slightly friendly...
Beautiful picture. That facial expression is really getting to me though.

I completely agree, it's kind and...something else. Deceptive? Manipulative? The expression of one who is puzzled and amused? It adds a lot of interest to the picture for me.

Hmm, it could be deceptive. Although now that I look at it again it almost... sad.
Heh, there are so many ways to look at it, I suppose it depends on you mood?

very nice, my only crit would be that her glasses seem to be off position, like a little to leaned to her right.
Anyways, nice painting

I like that you didn't overplay the background and instead let the focus remain on the subtle story in the foreground. I think the negative space helps to create a stronger impact through that. Love the shading and the light work ... I always appreciate a cable shadow on a torso, for example. Good luck!
