Silly Tutorial I made for *Danium (who shouldn't read this but she should rather start studying
)(please note that it might take some time to load this if you're on 56k... as it took me ages to upload it
)submitted at a crazy hour as I kept getting time outs in the evening and I woke up way too early today

I used a program called Macromedia Fireworks... now it's called Adobe Fireworks
You can make emoticons with other programs though. It's ages I made an emoticon, but I'm sure there are freeware for making animated gif

Adobe fireforks isn't free. I remember that there was a program calle GIMP (that's freeware) and if I'm not wrong you can make animated emoticon with that too.

The one I used was a really old version, I'm quite sure that even with newer versions it works more or less like that.

In all honesty I never used Gimp so I don't know how to create emoticons with it

What program are you using? XD I keep trying to animate my emotes in Flash MX but it's not working. -_-; *sigh*

The program I was using when I made this tutorial (the one I used to animate emoticons) was Fireworks MX. I used Flash just to create the tutorial.

I have two frames, which I would like to now store. That can be done probably only over " Exportieren" since the option only there "Gif" is at all present.

You should see an "Export Wizard" if you're using Fireworks MX. In there you have to pick "animated gif" and then click on the Export button.
(I think the newer versions of fireworks should be similar)

well the program I use isn't available anylonger... at least not the version I have. Fireworks is not an Adobe program, and yes you can download a trial from the Adobe.com website but I have no idea on how much it might cost the full version of it
