Description
This is an SEM (Scaning Electron Microscope) picture I took of an insect of the order Microcoryphia I am researching. The numbers on the bottom of the picture are data from the microscope. As I found out, you can get some rather interesting pictures from a SEM, and I particularly like this picture, as I think the leaning of the specimen gives it character.Related content

Its a Jumping Bristletail. The closest group it is related to are silverfish, and they look kind of similar ("closely related" being about as related as a mouse is to a monkey).

You would have to be very rich in order to own an SEM... I was using my university's! lol It sure opens up a whole 'nother world...

What's even cooler is that this was the first time anyone has put this order under any scrutiny. A lot of what I found was new to science (strange sensory hairs, etc.). Glad you don't think I'm crazy for posting an SEM picture.

Awesome! I'm glad you found new structures!
And no, I don't think you're crazy! you can't get much more "macro" than a SEM pic
