Description
Grandmaster Zac typed the last few lines of code into his computer, and pressed enter. He held his breath for a few moments as the computer processed the information, and then suddenly, a synthetic female voice filled the air.
"Hello? Is anyone there?"
Zac smiled.
"I'm here," he said.
"Grandmaster? Is that you? I can't see you."
"Let me try something," Zac told the voice.
Zac typed in a few more commands on the computer, and glanced at the projectors mounted around the room. They slowly whirled into life, and the figure of a young woman materialized in the room. She looked about, and finally focused on the Grandmaster.
"Grandmaster Zac. Sir. Am I glad to see you," the woman said "I thought i was going to die on that mission."
Zac gave her a sad smile, and the woman frowned.
"I'm afraid you did die," Zac told her. "Your body was recovered, but there was nothing that could be done to save you."
The woman shook her head in disbelief.
"No, that's impossible."
"It's true," Zac said.
He pressed a few keys on the computer, and the woman's eye widened as data filled her mind, confirming the Grandmaster's words.
"You're in luck though," Zac continued. "You were chosen to be the avatar for my new AI system. Welcome back to the Legion, Seleena."
The artificial intelligence known as Seleena smiled as she began to understand her new role in Zac's Demi-Legion, giving her purpose.
"It's good to be back, Grandmaster..."
