Description
Gabby-Ta yelped as she stabbed her finger with the screwdriver. She had been fixing some junk that her lover, Junior, had brought back home to her container. if she could get it working, she was sure she would be able to resell it for a few bucks. She slipped off her glove, inspecting the wound. it was deep, and blood welled up. Gabby-Ta sucked on it.
"Hey, Junior," she called out. "Can ya get me some thread, a needle, glue and a band-aid?"
Junior looked up from the other end of the container.
"Uh, sure, Specks."
He gathered up what she needed and brought it over, frowning when he saw the blood.
"Specks, what did you do?"
The echidna shrugged.
"Just a small cut," she told him. "Happens all the time."
Junior watched as she pulled a lighter out of her pocket, using the flame to sterilize the needle before she threaded it. Gabby-Ta gasped as she stuck it through the flesh of her finger, sewing the cut roughly closed. Tieing it off, she quickly opened the tube of glue and dabbed it onto the wound, sealing it up.
"Are you really sure you should do that, Specks?" Junior asked with a frown.
"Why not?" Gabby-Ta replied.
She held up her hand, showing him the cuts and callouses that covered her palms and fingertips.
"It's never bothered me before."
Junior sighed and applied the band-aid before kissing her.
"I just don't want anything to happen to you," Junior said. "You are pregnant, after all."
Gabby-Ta laughed.
"Junior, it's only a cut on the finger. it's not gonna hurt the baby."
She smiled and kissed him on the nose.
"But I appreciate the concern."
Gabby-Ta hugged her lover, resting her head against his shoulder. She still didn't fully understand Junior, or his tech-head ways, but she didn't care. They were together, and expecting a family. It was all that mattered...
