^^ This will be really helpful for me! I always wanted to have wings on some of my characters, but I can't do it worth anything. I'm glad you did this! ^^

You know, I was just looking into wings a couple weeks ago. My cousin had asked me to draw him something, and I had to look up all these pictures of eagles to see if I could do it. He told me all he wanted was the basic line art. That he didn't need details.... Has he never looked at an eagle before?
Anyway, I think this will help out a lot in the long run for me. Thanks for the good timing!

Whoo! I've had a wing tutorial in my head for AGES now, but I'm not good enough of an artist to do it. However, it's all in my head; and Lizeth, my friend..you have made one of the most common mistakes of drawing wings in the book (Nevermind there isin't a book. o-o). Don't mind me, if you weren't going for realistic wings - but it looks like you were, soo..
Where the wings attach to the back..it's not just from the shoulder blades like that. It has to go MUCH farther down. If you tried to fly with them, the weight pulling down on just that one connected joint, up high - it would snap. oo Wingy joints go snap, and now you're not going anywhere. Look at any winged creature anatomy, to see what I mean.

**snort** Yeah, see, this is why I shouldn't teach. I just do whatever looks right. I suppose that those wings would need added feathers to the bottom, like in the next step, if you'll take that excuse. I was thinking of Cloud's bat wing. I think it's pretty thinly attached and he only has one...
**flips through her pics** Hm. Seems like I've done wings according to size. The bigger the wing, the bigger it is where it attaches to the body. Angel Ranma's wings go all the way from the shoulder blades to the lower back but Bakura's wings are pretty puny in comparison, and Malik's wings are somewhere inbetween. O_o
But yeah, that wasn't a conscious decision my part... just mostly because Jeff (the author) specified Ranma's wings to be three times his height in span or something like that... probably 'cause he's the only character that actually uses 'em to fly gets them broken on a semi-regular basis. Interesting to note. Thanks! ^_^
