Description
- Armor EscortMy friend designed some stats for a 2-ton suit of powered armor which he called the, "Jaegers Marine Infantry Assault Armor JMI-04." It's supposed to be a meanacing 2,000kg behemoth.
It's armed with a support particle cannon on one arm and two miniguns on the other. Squeased inside of the torso is a lone pilot.
I used a picture of a train tunnel that he found online as a background and with a little work, rendered my models over this lowrez image. Some post processing plugins in trueSpace 6, and added Filmgrain in Photoshop, (to make it look more like the original photo) to finish everything off. I stuck a model of a troop transport in the background to help give the overall image some depth and perspective.

Thanks, Ty!
I seriously don't know what's up with the two details you mentioned. They're actually ON the models so they rendered that way. I was looking at it earlier and thought, "Damn, those look pasted on." I'll probably play with the image later and see if I can better blend those details into the scene.
I wish I had more time to do a fully rendered scene that looked this well done. As it stands now, I'm way too busy working on the 3028 game. The important thing is I finally figured out how to properly blend a scene with a background. Now I can make more complex scenes in layers and stuff later on!

Wow...Awesome work Liz! At first I thought the background was rendered as well. You did an amazing job of combining the RL elements, as well as the rendered. The only thing that detracts from this, I think, is the red symbol on the right breast (our right) and the blaring yellow/red on the truck in the background. Perhaps dulling them a bit would make them not jump out at the viewer, as it currently does (again, my opinion, others may not feel the same about it).
At any rate, excellent work. I always said I enjoyed your work when you made a scene out of it. Just gives it all the more depth.
