Description
From Technical Readout: 3050In its standard configuration, the Dragonfly appears to try to accomplish too much with too little capacity. Mounting short-range missiles and medium pulse lasers as its main weapons, this version of the Dragonfly lacks the range advantage of most Clan 'Mechs. Though its speed and maneuverability can get the Dragonfly into close range quickly, its armor and armament are insufficient to fight pitched battles with other medium 'Mechs.
This model is clearly related to my previous build, the 50 ton Nova [link] as they share the same legs and various other bits. This little monster has a movement rating of 8/12/8. That is a run speed of over 120kph and can jump a distance of 240 meters.

I planned to and one day I'm sure I will. I have a few 'mech models that I completed that will go into the next Mesh Render image: Warhawk, Nova, Viper (this one) and Storm Crow. However the Storm Crow model is about half done and is on hold for a while. I just got tired of building mechs and worked on the Rommel/Patton tank instead.

The MadCat image was just a minor edit and re-uploaded.

Wasn't previously a fan of the DragonFly, but I gotta say, this render definitely changes my opinion of it.

It is a bit of a strange duck of a design, isn't it? Actually getting it to look more like a 'mech and less like a duck took a bit of a Eureka moment. Gameplay wise I like its mobility, though I prefer the MkI variant (4 medium pulse lasers) to the official Prime variant.

Never really mastered piloting torso-lacking mechs. The Viper and Nova obviously rely on jumpjets, but the KitFox is a different story. Kinda curious to see how they would play if they ever made it into MWO.

They redesigned the Jenner and Locust to give them torso twist. Well, the Locust more to avoid Harmony Gold I'm sure. I have a feeling they'd do the same to other designs like the Nova and Viper. I imagine that the MWO Nova would resemble the Blackhawk-Ku.

Well, now I *HAVE* to look, damn you Lizzy. *looks* Hmm, I'm...actually liking some of these MWO redesigns. The Shadow Hawk, Griffin and Battle Master look rather interesting, but your Thunderbolt is like 1000 times more sexy.
Almost getting the urge to nab a Shadow Hawk. Must resist...HURRRRRRGGGGGGG....will...not...re...install....urrrg...ahh.
Ok, I'm better, I remembered how much I suck at the game and how I dislike the play control.

I can't post at MWO any longer. They changed the forum access and only players with 25+ games can post. I have a total of 3 games and MWO as it is doesn't work well on my dated system. Plus it doesn't feel like Battletech.
And yeah, I suck at it too. *pouts*

Guess we will have to wait until MPBT:3025 becomes freeware. Actually, I knew a guy who claimed he knew someone who had the server codes to MPBT....hmmm....forgot about that.

Good point. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before we find out.
