Description From Tech Readout: 3050U

A sleek, mobile, and versatile design, the Clan Stormcrow (designated the Ryoken by the DCMS troops who
first encountered it during the Clan Invasion) was long suspected to be one of the first OmniMechs produced by the Clans. More recent data—particularly the discovery of Clan Hell’s Horses’ venerable Corvis design—points to a later development, however, post-dating the first Omnis by roughly fifty years. Indeed, some historical records say the
Ryoken debuted about the time of the infamous Horses-Ghost Bear Battle for Tokasha, in which prototypes of the so-called “Omni-Corvis” first saw action.

Incorporating the best in weight-saving technologies, the Ryoken has excellent overland speed and near-maximum armor levels for its weight. With over twenty tons of pod space available, most configurations take advantage of the strong armor and speed to focus on load-outs that maximize this Omni’s performance as both a duelist and a hunter/killer.

After a bit of artistic burnout and an incomplete model, I finally managed to get back to the design and finish building this medium weight monster. The version seen here in Alt-B configuration: armed with six Extended Range Medium Lasers and a 20-Class Autocannon.

The Stormcrow was one Mech I pre-ordered A La Carte mainly for the Configuration B loadout. I'm hoping it's going to look as epic as what you made here. >u<

PGI recently released screenshots of the Ryoken. The yellow camo version looks a bit like construction equipment to me. Their version is a bit stalky and gangly. Plus they added those comically tiny hands!

I saw the screenshots you're referring to, but it wasn't until you pointed out the 'ConstructionMech' color theme that I realized that's what it looked like. As for those lanky and stalky arms, I wonder if PGI was actively trying to make the Stormcrow look like a scarecrow. =u=

Inb4 Scary Stormcrow.

Ha! I didn't even think of a scarecrow! Now my Bat fandom has me wondering which 'mech would look Batman...

Lol, now we managed to connect things to the Batman universe. Somehow I can see Batman take an Atlas on and take it down without damaging it heavily in addition to not killing the pilot. =u=

Funny thing about the idea of Batman and mecha is that it's how The Big O became a thing.

Ooh, I like! Gotta say, the Nova style arms and hand look good on it. The primary config's hands are so comically small that I didn't even realize it had them for the longest time. Like... What would you even use them for? Picking apples?

I digress, this is a great piece of work! Definitely a config I want to try on MWO once June rolls around.

The Primary configuration uses the Viper's arms with its comically small hands, and yes they do seem fairly useless. The text description for the Alt-B (this one) is this:

Alternate Configuration B features a massive Ultra-20 autocannon on its left arm. This version shares the Black Hawk's distinctive hexagonal arrangement of six extended-range medium lasers in its right arm. - Tech Readout: 3050

I haven't been able to play MWO due to an antiquated PC (7 y/o) so I have no idea what PGI has done to the game's mechanics since I last tried it. Would 6x ERM Las and an UAC20 do well?

Oh yes, that config would work great. Well... provided it was being used by a heat-conscious pilot.

It's a shame you can't run it anymore. Depending on your system, you might be able to make a few minor and cheap upgrades to get you back in the game.

Sadly no. I'd have to build a new system for it to be viable for the next cycle of games/software/etc. So I'm saving up spare cash to get a new custom PC.

Thanks! I'm glad I set this one aside for a while. Coming back to it after several weeks helped in the final build.

You're welcome!  And it did turn out nicely.  Sadly for Arma 3 I'm mainly into guns (much easier and less of a pain) than doing a Mech.

Ah, mechwarrior. I haven't played in years (pc), but this brings back fond memories of me and my brother co-manning a mech and taking down the enemy.

How did you manage that? One on keyboard and the other with a stick?

I remember him doing the steering on the keyboard and we set the weapons to the number pad, so we sat side by side. Ah, the memories. Thank you for sharing your art. I had forgotten all about those days.
