Description
Anyone that's a fan of The Legend of Zelda would recognize this image. I tried to recreate the artwork from Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past showing the Master Sword in its stone pedestal deep within the Lost Woods. For years I tried to recreate this scene off and on in 3D, pencil sketch and other mediums without much success (or rather, to my liking). I think I've finally done it.
You can see more detail and info for the stone pedestal and sword here: [link]
-edit-
I know more recent versions of the Master Sword have a blue hilt. In the original art the handle was red.

I really like this image. I am a huge Zelda Fan, and remember especially the one Zelda game that lacks this sword. So, thanks for the desktop wallpaper.

great representation, mon ami. Just a couple things......
the triforce on the blade actually caused the blade to swell outward at that point it was bigger.
the lines on the hilt were not very concise, the hilt was also blue not silver.
other then those two things, a great drawing, mon ami.

I used multiple references to build the 3D model. A real life recreation, a few screen shots, and the original artwork as guides. Taking all those in combination and I ended up with the model you can see in my scraps.
The blade, hilt and pommel don't have etching on them either, but I thought it was fitting for my representation.

Does anybody understand the Hylian written on the pedestal? Nice work! WOAW! It's sweet! I like the blue master sword from OoC better though...

LizzyGibbs3D In reply to CoriyaPavon [2008-04-23 20:57:22 +0000 UTC]
It's written in English (just like the Hylian in LoZ:TP - which is where I got the idea). Also, I've given clues to what it says in other replies for this image.

this is really good. is there a reason you made the handle red and silver instead of blue, or is it just because?

LizzyGibbs3D In reply to Kevin-teh-Pwner [2007-12-08 08:05:50 +0000 UTC]
The original art it was red. The silver because its metal.

LizzyGibbs3D In reply to Chaoticman [2007-12-05 00:41:17 +0000 UTC]
That's OK. The font isn't an English script. It's fictional. Unless you knew how to read the script from Twilight Princess, you wouldn't be able to anyway.
I'll give you a few hints:
- The writing on the sword is the sword's name.
- The stone (top part of the pedestal) part of the sword legend
- The base (bottom part of the pedestal) is directly from LoZ:LttP
