Description
This piece was originally meant as a vehicle for developing some fairly advanced materials for the Megapov raytrace engine and I wasn't going to post it.However, it made such an interesting piece, so I am posting it. The resolution is higher than what I normally post because I wanted people to be able to see the interesting skin effects.
The "skeleton" was modeled in wings3d and rigged in poser. I've still got to fix some poke through on the shoulders.
Don't ask what the acronym stands for. I don't know. the periods just looked cool.

is my favorite, but these other pieces shook out as well.
I couldn't help it.
As soon as I read you didn't know what it meant the wheels started spinning.

Deteriorating Exodermal Covering Applied Yield
Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but I like it.

I think you just need a slightly twisted mind like mine.
The applied Yield refers to the fact that this was a test skin, and you are evaluating how it held together visually.
I think it's a perfect description. However see statement one about a twisted mind. heheh
Love your art, btw. Your lighting always amazes me.

Thanks for the comment on the lighting. I wrote the code that generates the lights and a lot of work went into it. It is nice to see someone appreciate it.

"modeled in wings3d and rigged in poser"
Wow. Last time I tried that my brain got seriously bent. That was Poser 4 though.
Nice to see you taking some chances in a different direction with the theme too.

Really good work. The only thing is... parts of her skin are look like "flying in the air". Maybe its the result by using alpha. But at the end, its pretty good : D

so i see a transparency and bump map. are you using displacement as well?
very cool idea, embed an inner figure in an outer figure then transmap the outer figure.
now you got *me* thinking...
are you ray tracing the shadows? and which hair model? one problem i have in the firefly rendering engine, with raytraced shadows and transmapped hair is that the shadows don't work so well.

Extremely odd, And disturbing, but it doesn't reach disgusting. Don't misunderstand me, my opinion is positive I don't like it looks, but somehow, it is... positive... maybe the green eye. Good job

But it was meant to be disturbing.

She needs an upgrade in the organic skin area. Very good material use! Wow, that is very cool stuff! She looks really old, or battle damaged. Either way...great work! O__O

Quite fascinating , and also really creepy. It's a great concept, and interesting skeleton. So, the yellow on the breasts comes from underneath, from the skeleton, right? The d.e.c.a.y. in the texture, minus the transparency, looks like it could work great for lots of things.

Yes, the yellow is from some gold plates. Only problem with these textures is that they take *forever* to render.

I bet it does. Transparency... Takes too long!
