Description
Just another piece where I am playing around with new tools. I found an ivy generator over at sharecg.com that has to be one of the coolest things I have ever seen. I am also still working on my new lighting engine as well.Anyway, enjoy!

Looks like i forgot to prune the garden lately... ... er... of course *now* would be an excellent time to do so!!!
... good time for watering it too...
.... oh, i mean... er... neve'mind...
...
Very cool work - at some points the ivy branches are a bit "blocky" but the lighting and perspective win it out by a distance!!
I wonder if that is the same ivy generator i have used or another... would you mind pointing me to it mate? Ivy surely are fun!

Looks like it's the same one i downloaded some time ago... oh, well... at least that made me remember it so i could try and put it to better use than just taking up space on my desktop... thanks anyway!

Yep. I don't think the vines were meant for closeup work, but then, the wild grape vines that I've come across many times actually have this kind of blocky appearance.
As for the pruning and watering.... She could probably use the help.

So the ivy's starting point would be... ah...
Is the background generated or applied post-render?

The starting point is not where you are thinking.

I like this. Especially the hair. And this is kind of how I feel right now.

Time for the agent orange! LOLOLOLOL The Ivy generator does wild stuff, but too poly heavy for any apps I use.
Very cool stuff! For a smile, you might want to check out my latest deviation. I tried a little Poseray for the first time. The results were different. I'll never do scenes with it, but one figure was alright.

Poseray only makes sense if you are willing to dig all the way into Povray. The material nodes in Poser do not translate well over to Povray. Neither do the lights. It is one of the reasons I release so few models. I do all my material work in Povray. Still... I can do things in Povray that Poser will never be able to do. I'm running a piece now that is a whole scene full of Ivy.

I sort of figured that. I haven't figured out what all that Poser can do. I guess I'm just frustrated because I don't want to reinvent the wheel to just render my scenes while I'm writing the story, too.

Well, here is a great example of what Povray can do... [link]
I'm still trying to achieve this level. It is not easy though. The nice thing about Povray is that you can create material libraries. Once you have stuff defined, you just pull in the libraries and assign your materials. However, I've always been a bit disappointed in how few of these libraries have been made freely available. seems like the community want to keep their tricks closely guarded.
Parrotdolphin and I are heavy Povray/Megapov users. We would always welcome someone into the group if you ever change your mind.

That's spectacular! Right now, I might use it for the occasional single character, but I have enough trouble using Vue. LOLOLOL I'm just too busy to learn all the tricks of a new renderer.

Awesome! Who would expect a plant like that to try to rape her?
