Description
I have an idea for this character for some time. I finally got around to doing a render of her. I like how it turned out.It uses a new method (new to me anyway) that combines a radiosity render and a regular render into a final image.
If curious, I made the bow in wings3D.

The skin render is great. Her right hand, for example, totally fools me. Only the face still looks artificial. The hair plays a part too.

Beautiful image How do you make those free flowing bits of fabric I see in a few of your renders?

The fabric is part of the model in this case, but most of the time I use the cloth simulator in Poser along with some custom "fabric" models I created in wings3D. The models are really nothing more than simple planes that have been shaped to what I need.

That bow is gorgeous. I really have to learn my way around wings3D now that I've started puttering with trying to create 3D items for my renders.

I cheated a little bit. I used the wings from my Kontari outfit and made a bow out of them.
This radiosity effect worked much better. Setting all the materials white and multiplying the resulting image against the regular render added radiosity without destroying the highlights and normals. Correcting the levels was painful though...

So, did you use your PIBL for the regular render?

I take it, that feathers is her theme? LOLOLOL Pretty good! Radiosity is good! I've wished there was something similar in Poser, but I've recently done some kick-ass stuff with IBLs. When you can't do anything else, cheat. LOLOL
Playing around I can cheat sometimes with light, but I'd rather play fair with some renderer and not have to work so hard.

Radiosity can add so much to realism because of the little extra light interactions people often take for granted. But since Poser doesn't support it, I have to content with IBL + ambient occlusion.

The changes are subtle, but it is pretty amazing the impact it can have on a scene. Rendering the radiosity map is just brutal though.... I need a new computer.

That's why V-Ray and MentalRay are so appreciated in the CG community - they can compute the global illumination much faster than other renderers and store the information so it doesn't have to recalculate radiosity again unless you move objects in the scene.

I can't seem to make squat in wings 3d. I mean I couldn't even figure out how to get a simple sphere in to it. ROFL oh well.
Great that you do such good work with it.
