Description
Background:She has no name. She is one of the nameless of the Golmore jungle.
She and her kind roam the forest healing damage and taking care of unwanted intruders and/or problems with their powerful magics.
The nameless belong to no clan, but are often sought out to reside over important ceremonies and also to guide Viera that wish to leave the jungle safely out of the jungle.

Well, I didn't think I was going to do any more Viera characters, but talked me into doing another one. If anyone wants details about the 3D stuff, just let me know. I am too tired to write anything else right now.

only one problem, all of your viera work is beautiful but... Viera are naturally fuzzy beings. it looks like none of them are fuzzy at all. like even a little. just thought throwing in a lil fuz might bring it to it's best <3

Indeed, The Nameless is truly my favorite out of your many other amazing Viera works you've done. You always seem to get me with the flawless detail and unique style that relates so accurately to the Viera race, yet has it's own touch of unique traits that certainly has me looking at it forever, learning something new every time. Her design on her left leg is really cool, and I love the whole Mage idea you put in with them.

Part (most) of her armor was. The cloth pieces are flat planes that I ran cloth simulations on. The staff is a spear that I added some additional primitives to to turn it into a preistess staff.

I find 3DSMax lacking in many ways. I tend to model by subdividing objects and 3DSMax is not really set up for it. Its boolean operators seems to leave something to be desired as well. This all could be because I am using a really old version (Version 5!). I have recently discovered wings3D and I am doing my first project in it. Despite it's simple appearance, I am finding many things just plain work better than 3DSMax. The is especially true with complex organic shapes.
I have never used Maya, so I can't directly compare them.

That tattoo is one of my creations and also where I learned the pain of matching seams. I have used it in a lot of pieces. I think it is time to make some new body art though. (*shivers* thinking about those seams again....)
The tattoo is a .psd or transparent .png file that I can overlay on body textures through various tricks. It makes it nice because it can be used with any body texture that way.

thanks for the info, by the way, it is difficult to match the .psd with the skin texture???, how do you manage to do it???

When using the .psd I have to resize it and overlay it on the skin texture to make a new one. With .png files, I can encode an alpha channel into the file and overlay the tatto texture in the material nodes. UV mapping is nice in the since that the image size and resolution doesn't have to match between the texture maps as long as the UV coordinates line up.

it sounds complicated but i have the main idea, hey, i have a petition for you, how about you do some tutorial, you know many useful tecnichs for the 3D artist, dont you thing it can be useful to gave a tutorial about 3d modeling or about details like the tatoo in this one, its going to be usefull for many people, how do you thing its only a sugerence
