Description
This is a bit of an odd image, but it served its purpose.A few out there may know that I wrote my own image base lighting code for generating light sets for the Povray render engine. I spent some time this weekend doing a major overhaul on that code to improve some annoying artifacts I was dealing with. This scene was used as a test image.
The collection on the right was generated from 168 source images for the lighting. The one of the left is one of those I selected for a final render.
I am happy with how the code is performing now.
Enjoy.

BTW, any idea where that costume came from? I'd love to get it if it's available someplace.

Wow... gotta clear off the cobwebs... The main outfit was somthing called biogoth (I think). It is really old and was originally for animedoll. The stockings were a freebie from someplace... The wings I modeled.

Google suggests it's Biogoth Angels, for Anime and Maya Doll, from Renderosity. Rendo says it's no longer available. Drat, looks like a cute costume.

Thank you so much for such a comment! Lighting is one of those things I try to work hard at. It can have such a major impact on a piece.

you're welcome.
i agree; to me lighting feels like the closest thing to painting, in the 3d cgi world.

It looks great! Wow, 168 images!! You have patience - but now I guess this is your reference for deciding which one you want to use. Very cool.

That is the beauty of scripts.
Kick it off, go to work, come home, eat dinner, go to sleep, get up next morning.... still running? Yep -> go to work.......

Looks pretty clean. Sorry to hear about your PC. That is major suckage. I don't know diddly about coding, but my number two machine died last week, so I know suckage!
Good luck with getting it up and running again. I can't wait for my SSI to finally go through! Then I can finally get a GOOD machine!

It has been dying a slow death for a while. It was not by surprise. Now just to figure out what to replace it with.....

The same or better? Just a guess.

The lighting looks really good on this. That is the one issue I'm still having with Daz Studio. I just can't seem to grasp the lighting at all. And the girl is cute too, by the way.

Artifact-wise it looks clean. But raytracing must take time to render. ^^

It does, but it keeps my computer busy while I am at work... or at least it did until my machine died this evening.

I was doing surgery in my computer last night too. The power supply fan was making terrible noises and I had to replace it. I was coping with that noise for a week until I decided to open the box and fix it...
