Description     So I tried taping the edges of my canvas with some painters tape to see if I could get some slick lookin borders. Yes, I can! xD I did peel it too fast, but its such a short work, it doesn't really matter much to me. My next piece, I have some big ideas and I'll probably tape the edges as well. They look so clean

It's the month of February! That means there's lots to be excited for! Not in my case. This is a time where everything at school is hammering you down, and when you try to get back up, you get whacked back down again. February is a game of Whack a Mole. There's just. so. Much. WORK! That said, I'm going to be fairly quiet with uploads for the time being until I manage my stress and workload. I can't wait for spring break. Got some exciting news then!

Time Taken: 30 minutes
Tools: Robert Simmons Sapphire S85 Round 8 watercolour brush
Paint: Victorian Windsor Watercolour
Paper: Strathmore Mixed Media 400 Series 9x12

this is so beautiful it's like a quite country meadow. I really love the mix of colors in the tree in the foreground it's got a hint of autumn to it's colors while still keeping a summer afternoon to it's feel (getting an august vibe) really nice for something simple

Thank you so much, Arc! It does give off a mid day summer feel to it. Maybe I'm subconsciously dreading for the summer break that it made its way into my art. Yes. XD

It's so cute!! I love how you worked on colors here - and I think that this tree would also be another amazing place to rest and read a good book

Hahahaha, I know the feeling! Good luck to both of us xD

Thank you, Squi! I'm slowly making progress with colours. More the better! And yeah, it seems like a lot of the things I draw work well for a place of book reading xD maybe I'll draw a library for that haha

You too! Things are lightening up, but still busy :/

Nice! Great scene, and the border is way cool too.

Another thing you can try is a...  I think it's called a wax resist. The basic idea is to use a crayon to color (or a white one that barely shows up) where you don't want the watercolor to soak in. I have never done this (I stick to the writing and camera work), but I have heard of it used as a watercolor technique.

Awesome! Thank you, Jatheus!

Ohh I haven't heard of that, but I do know of something very similar called masking fluid. Like with wax, it blocks out the pigment from the paper. Ill look into this wax thing. It seems very interesting! Thank you!
