Description FINALLY FINISHED!

Here's my entry for the Eye of Terror Vehicle painting contest.
It's taken me a full month to finish, but damn am I happy with it.

I'll upload some additional views for everyone to check out. but this right here is for the contest.

The purple is P3 paints "beaten purple" and the gold is a spray on from Tamiya paints.

There was a near disaster when using some Vallejo Gold that just wouldn't go on evenly, so I stripped it off and did the spray instead (after heavily masking the rest of the tank).

I was SURE that the gold was going to set me back past the due date, but here it is. With 5 Minutes to spare

EDIT: I also wanted to give a big "thanks" to AkumaNCN for his tips on wearing/weathering. It was really good advice, and it translated to the tank quite well. Thanks again man.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I've got the LandRaider tucked away in a box (in foam) but I'm debating taking her out and finishing.

Needs some mud or washes. Also if you do paint chipping paint a lighter color than the color you're chipping to rim the exposed metal. It looks like the vehicle has multible layers of paint.

I did think of doing some line work on the scratches, that's still something that may happen in the future. Right now everything is in boxes after a move, but that's on my "to do" list

Looking good! Maybe add some mud? Kind of scary to defile your creation I know (I don't do it) but I think this could really benefit. Nice work.

It's definitely something I'm thinking about...
I've recently picked up some weathering powders from Tamiya Modeling, but you're right, I'm kinda scared to throw them on something that's "finished".

Thanks for the compliment

That is one absolutely beautifully painted Purple. How many layers of it did you have to do?

First off, thanks for the watch and the compliment. It's appreciated.

There was about 6 layers of purple. The first 2 just to get some color down, then the next 4 were REALLY thinned, just to get the color even.

Well painted.

I like to paint miniatures too, but I am not really good at it. Fav+ / Watch+

Thanks man

I always try to add a dash of rad when I'm painting.

Epic is harder to mix in.

I will, I have one of the Tamiya Mud pens... but I ran out of time for the deadline.

I'll update the pic eventually with the additional weathering

I think drybrushing and stippling would be your best option =-D

I'm thinking I'll use the pen for the larger clumps of mud, and then blend them into the armor from there. Mostly with a stippling effect.

Looks like they added 10 days to the contest. So I have time now.
