Alucard from Hellsing. OpenCanvas 3 + Photoshop touch up. Don't know how long this took...Tried a different painting method on this one. Started with black, then add lighting to different parts, did't use any base color. All done on one layer, except the hair. Grr, but now it seems rather empty. :/ Not what I hoped... Gahhhhhhhhhh
Edit: minor touch up... make me feel slightly better about this painting now. but the bg is still a killer. T_T

sweet lighting--I think the different technique paid off. If you're unhappy with the background, what if you just cropped some of it out?

I dont think cropping would work. I'm happy with the composition. It's the big void in the part between the cape and his head bothers me.

Whoa, Alucard looks bad ass. Like he's just spotted some filthy mongrel vampire over his shoulder and he's giving him the underarm hand cannon blasting.

Absolutely beautiful coloring... You also did a superb job maintaining a light source. The minimal light gives it a very creepy feel

I failed 6 times while try to put eyes in the freaking bg. >.< Good thing it's on different layer I can just delete the eyes. But still.. failed miserably
