You're right about horses and ponies always doing their best not to trample on a body or corpse. This white man is something! Humanity means nothing more than a way to make a buck to him! I loved the bow that must never touch the ground, that was a powerful element in this page.

I inserted the bow thing at a very late stage when I suddenly connected the dots between her and the bow falling and what I know about how the thunderbow was treated.

You make such an original work here.
I've met Native American on a few occasions in the US and Canada and they stroke me as being always dwelling in many layers of reality. A Blackfeet, a Micmac and a Cheyenne impressed me particularly with how they read our immediate environment: which way a bird flew, where a shadow landed, what words carried behind their obvious meaning, etc.
I suppose you're an anthropologist or something close.

Thank you for your observations and kind words! NA and Cheyenne lifeways are merely a hobby of mine.

Great depiction of what goes through the mind of the greedy vehoe. Β Removing body parts for trophies is grotesque but it makes me particularly sad seeing native American wedding dresses on display as it shows that the owner of these had happier times before their villages were plundered and cherished possessions seized. Β One interesting question though....we see plenty of specimens Β of moccasins, leggings, dresses but I have never seen exhibition of breach clouts. Β Is there a taboo about displaying these?

Good question. I can only guess. Plains Indians didn't know underwear, breechclouts were the closest thing to this. I guess whites might have considered it inappropriate to put "underwear" on display. Concerning buckskin breechclouts, my understanding is that these were never washed. They were worn for some time and then discarded. I don't find it too difficult to imagine that whites wouldn't have collected them for that reason also. However, most breechclouts were made from cloth. I haven't seen one in a collection either.

There is a letter in Wolfenstein The new order which mentions African tribesmen doing that to Nazi soldiers.

We need neither African tribesmen nor Nazi soldiers for delving into that territory . Cheyene warriors were very inventive and meticulous when it comes to postmortem treatment of enemies. We'll cover that when the time comes.
