Description
The title should better be Copic Markers and Colored Pencils Tutorial but it was too long. xDMy very first tutorial everyone.
It shows how I color most of my drawings, if I'm not using watercolor.

And forgive me that I wrote so much! Will even anyone read all of it? xD

I can't believe I only just found this! I've been struggling with both Copic markers and colored pencils (though I use Prismacolor) for a very long time. Usually, I end up trying to color digitally, with disastrous results. With your tutorial, I have a much better idea of how to use my materials. I can't thank you enough, and kudos for having the talent and the time to put this tutorial together!

I have a question, every time I colored my drawing with markers or poster (or water) colors, it always turns out to be a big mess and I have no idea how to fix it.. It's like the lighter color is "stacked" on the darker color (the point is, they never blend nicely..) and every time I scan it, turns out super bad and ugly...
The same thing always happen to me when I use color pencil and shading...
I hope you can help me. Sorry for the messy words... XDD

My gallery on DA isn't updated all that well/ the last i posted was my attempt at PS but recently Ive begun doing more of my natural medium, traditional. I used copic markers back in High school but don't have the money for anything else. i think i actually might now. it looks a lot more professionally done and smooth

I don't know if anybody has asked you this already, but . . . What are all the different sets of copic markers you own? Which ones are good for skin, backgrounds, etc.??
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Loonaki In reply to myblckwings [2011-03-20 21:43:19 +0000 UTC]
I do not own any sets. I bought all my Copics separately. I just would say that every pastel light Copic is always useful, because it's good for base colors. For light skin, for example, I like to use "Skin White", "Milky White" and "Barley Beige". I hope that helped. :]

Thanks. :] Lately way more often than the Copic and colored pencils technique actually. :] I really want to do a watercolor tutorial too, but I rarely have the time right now...

I have a question: How long does it take to draw one picture with this style? I can be impatient sometimes and I want to know if it will take too long for me
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Loonaki In reply to reewi [2011-03-13 23:10:04 +0000 UTC]
I would say that really just depends on how fast you normally work. ^_^° I personally am so slow, that I almost meditate while drawing. Which means a drawing like this takes me about 5-6 hours. But I'm pretty sure faster artists are able to do it in 2 hours, or something... xD
