I had this theory in college that the further someone lived away, the earlier they were. I lived a long way away and I was always second to class, where as the guy who lived across the street from campus was always late. Not sure how a time machine would have helped him though

Yes, it's a proven fact........for myself for a time I was only five minutes from work,now I was never late but always pushed it and was one of the last ones to show,lol.

Doctor who nerd here: the minute you enter a point in time with the tardis it becomes a fixed point in the time traveller's relative history so you couldn't go back home 30 minutes before you left because you were already there getting ready for the picnic and the tardis wouldn't allow that paradox to happen unless some infinitely powerful being allowed it to be so. /sperg

I think I spoke too soon: in season 1 the Doctor takes rose back to a point where they already were, and she interferes with history and it begins to tear the fabric of reality apart.

I highly recommend all the seasons!
