Description I have a confession to make… I'm a sucker for quirky micro cars.

While others are welcome to enjoy their sports cars, SUV's, 4x4's or minivans, I like my cars tiny, somewhat underpowered and just a little temperamental.

Recently purchased a 2006 smart fortwo and it amused me that if I applied a logical sequence to the shapes of the cars I have owned over the years, the next one would, in fact, be spherical.

Of course I had to design it and draw up my old cars….

Pencil sketches - painted in photoshop.

Fantastic work as always!

I wonder, though β€” what will the car after your next look like? A tesseract? The spherical equivalent of a tesseract? What *is* the spherical equivalent of a tesseract? A black hole? *BOOM* Mind. Blown...

And just how cool would it be to drive around in a black hole? Take that, traffic jams!

I would have gone with teleportation, but a black hole is just WAAAAAAAY cooler
Cheers man!

Yeah, teleportation would definitely be in my top 2 choices of transportation.

haha, my first car was an old red Daihatsu Cuore. At 70 km/h the trunk would open and waiting at a stoplight was kind of tricky as it would love to simply shut down when I tried to get it into first gear again. Fun times

And you not only can draw people, you're good at drawing cars, too

Loopydave In reply to engelszorn [2012-04-01 13:46:08 +0000 UTC]

Now that sounds like a car with personality. Maybe even a personality disorder.
And thanks - I enjoy drawing more 'technical' items (even if they are a bit 'toony' like here) as well - funny now that I look back at it, I actually did better in technical drawing classes in high school than I did in art

Never owned or drove one, but both the original and the more recent versions are really cool... though its probably hard to call the new body shape 'mini'... its so much bigger than the original design.

I will! Why don't you send them the design so that they can build one? I mean, the hard part is already done

haha, I kinda laugh at those cars, but then this weekend i was trying to park in a neighborhood where I ended up circling six square blocks just to find some creepy little alley to park in and as I walked back to my friend's house I saw this tiny little spot between two cars and was thinking...damnit I should have a smart car haha.

Loopydave In reply to NinjaBits [2012-03-29 05:22:26 +0000 UTC]

When I moved to the place I live now, it had no studio.. so I had to convert most of the garage into one and lucky for me I bought a mini car because the space left over is only just big enough for my smart car

this is no confession, dave...
most of us already knew this

true story

ironically, you pretty much drew my next car too
i shall peremptorally dub it the "PokΓ©car"
(for obvious reasons)

and yes, i know i spelled that big word wrong

Loopydave In reply to Daellus [2012-03-29 05:19:38 +0000 UTC]

"PokΓ©car" seems most appropriate - love it!
Mis-spelling big words is entirely forgivable - I like to mix it up a bit and mis-speel smoll wurds too, keeps peepl on ther toes
