Description
RIP Uderzo. Time to put down the menhir, tie up Cacofonix and raise a roasted boar to celebrate the artistic genius behind Asterix and Obelix. Uderszo's comics were a huge part of my childhood and growing up and his amazing art still influences me today.Related content

I think in this case, Cacofonix would be allowed to join the feast.
RIP Albert, thank you for the many good childhood and adulthood memories.

When you get old, forget about aching knees, receding hairlines and proceding bellies, it's the pasing of your childhood heros that hurt.
Thanks for the great artwork!

I only ever knew these characters through an animated feature when I was a kid, that I think I had on VHS. I sadly had little exposure to the comics, if at all, from what I can remember, but just from the animated version these characters always persisted in my memory from my childhood, even if at times I'd forget the details of the story and names, the character designs always stood out in my mind as particularly memorable and iconic.

Wait, he's dead? Didn't know it yet. So sad! The comics also were part of my childhood, I read them again and again. Some jokes I didn't understand as a child, so reading them as an adult was some kind of a rediscovery. And after learning some french, I was able to get some gags which were lost at the translations.
It's a very kind tribute. Now let's hope he will meet again in heaven with RenΓ© Goscinny. Heaven will be a lot funnier place from now on!
