Description
Generally don't like showing works in progress - I often change a picture while I'm working on it, but she's pretty much finished - Its the background characters and, well, backgrounds that I'm still working on. Based on a silly pen and ink cartoon pic I drew some years back, and was meant to be just a quick colouring excercise. Ended up dropping the ink outlines and going more full on painterly. Apologies to all the hardcore SW fans out there - Lukes sex change operation obviously went well!Related content

there *was* a period during one of the early Star Wars drafts where the Luke character *was* female. The family name was still something like "Starkiller" I think.
Clearly a chick as Luke would have been hot.

Yeah, I found that out after I had painted it - didnt know about the family name though! Think I would have preferred luke a girl - may be he wouldnt have been so whiny then!

The big thick "The Making of Star Wars (TM): The Definitive Story Behind the Original Film" gives an amazing view into the entire thing. Unique access into everything, from the earliest inklings of the idea. It's fun to come from what Star Wars is now, to back then, when he was scrambling to nail down a story, completely broke and working out of his house in Marin. No one had any idea of what was to come.
Anyway, brilliantly done.
