Description
I had planned to paint my friends portrait for her birthday, but with one thing or another, it never happened. I ended up doing a little book of silly in jokes and this is from it. Deliberately left areas loose and unfinished and was kind of happy with the end result.Pencil sketch on paper, painted in photoshop.

Love the fisheyed look myself - not sure I really got it right in this picture, but it was fun to do.
Its funny, really early on I used to paint all my teeth pretty much white, but like eye pupils, then you have nothing to put highlights on - and teeth really need good highlights to give them that toothy enamel look.

Not entirely sure she's too keen on how I distorted her face and made her expression so crazy, but it was part of a whole gift and she really did like that!

Thanks! Its funny, the whole picture was painted a bit looser than my more finished works, including the hand, but it seems to have come up quite nicely at this scale. I think I'll post a 1:1 pic of the hand by itself just so people can see how quickly it was put together.

Her face expression and painting style are great. Also her hand (I swear I thought that hand was "copy / pasted" from a real one, I had to look closely to confirm that was your job there haha) perfect!

Not to gush, but the hand holding the iPhone is downright masterful, especially in regards to the middle and index finger's highlights and hints of underlying blood vessels. They're relatively small details, but for some reason I'm quite impressed by their execution. Oh, and here's hoping that your friend's birthday was a happy and healthful one!

Thanks my friend! The bigger eye was painted that way to create a crazy expression, add a bit of 'tooniness' to the picture and mimic a fisheye lens feel. I had it this way from the very first sketch but it didnt quite work out how I wanted it to and I ran out of time to fiddle with it some more.

Indeed...but its also why I dont talk in the car,video store,while shoping,at restarants....I would like one for an emergency so we bought a prepay one from at&t and used it for our vacation... but when I went to use it again they said I had to buy a new phone...what a racket..lol
