HOLY SHIT IT'S DONE.So anyway, sometime last night I decided I'd finally draw Loor wearing her scarf as a tube-top. I have a red scarf just like it and do the same quite often, but I figured if I drew up Loor like that it would cause all the haters to spring out of the woodwork to scream at me for having a 'Mary Sue OC who's too sexy.' And, last night, I decided to say fuck it. Who cares? Come at me bro!
So I set to drawing this; what started out as something that was going to be a pin-up type piece of artwork suddenly turned into a practice in badassery... and for reasons unknown Loor is wearing Jak's pants and holding the Beam Reflexor.
I'm really proud of this one; it's the first time I've successfully drawn eco sparks.
Also really pleased with her hair and the gun. Either way, I'm happy.
This piece was done on a combination of MS Paint (windows 7) and Paint.net in approximately 12 hours.
I do not own Jak and Daxter.

Sorry, had to do it. This is fantastic, I wish I could've been at the livestream yesterday. It looks like someone just interrupted some private time with Jak and she just threw on whatever was closest, and is now going to go and kill the interrupter.

It's cool, I think I'm gonna start live streaming pretty regular when I'm drawing, it's kinda fun in a sorta awkward way... cause I've got a headset so I'm talking but everyone else is typing into the chatbox and I can hear NOTHING AT ALL so meow.

XDD The way you can tell if they're Loor's pants or Jak's pants is because Loor had to cut a hole in hers for Lyra's tail, though she did sew a flap over it to keep it from being obscene during the times at which she does not have a tail.
Aaaand I just got an image of someone hooking some kind of leash on the extra bit of fabric.

That seems like it'd be a big hassle... I kinda seem to have broke tradition with female DWP subjects- I think Raye/Ambika is the first one I've seen that doesn't have a tail.

Well that's just the thing; Loor is meant to tackle all the cliches within the fandom and prove that they're not bad, just often written badly because the authors have no real wish to create something worth reading, just something they enjoy for themselves. And I will also call bullshit; Serenity does not have a tail. She's Fury's dark form, and she will be getting a lot more love this time around in the fic.

Oh, whoops. Well, one of the few, then. I totes forgot about Serenity in the seventy-five chapters of VoW. >.<
I'm really trying to do that this time around with Altered Reality- granted, I was trying to do that the first time, but the first time around, I was twelve and it was my first time writing something of that magnitude... ever. I wasn't sure HOW to write something that I'd enjoy and that people would maybe want to read. Hopefully I do now.

Well, Fury did kinda die in like chapter 10, taking Serenity with her before we even saw the monster face-to-face. Which I feel is going to make Fury's return to the story quite... interesting. Serenity will be a practically new character when we finally all get to meet her, and I feel the story will benefit from it.
I think we all have that little trouble the first time we write; we sorta just dive in without a care nor awareness of what is pandering to ourselves and what is in an audience's greatest interest. As we grow, we learn, and polish our work. That's why I love fanfiction; it's a wonderful way to practice.

That's always the issue, isn't it? What everyone wants to see happen, versus what you actually want/planned to happen- you'll never manage to make everyone happy.
Especially when it comes to fluffy stuff. Romance is a hard thing to judge on the 'what's enough' scale. Especially in OCxCanon Character stories (you're ALWAYS going to get SOMEONE yelling 'Mary Sue' from the wings). But you're right, it's great practice to get into original works. I know that if I hadn't written as much as I did, I never would've been able to get anything done on my original stuff.

Defenestration is an amazing word!! I learned it when I introduced my mother to Girl Genius and she said that she would like to defenestrate Othar Trygavassian, and then Gil did so so yeah... Gotta love it when you're reading something and you're like 'such and such should happen to so and so' and then it DOES and you're like 'IMMA FUCKING PSYCHIC'

XDD Happened when I watched Avatar the Last Airbender. My Hubby introduced me to it and we marathon-ed the whole series cause he happened to own it. Pretty much at least twice every episode, more often with Sokka was involved, I would say something that I felt should be said, and someone (usually Sokka) would say it about five seconds later. Or other stuff like predicting actions, major reveals, ect. My hubby got all mad at me at first like 'You've seen this before, admit it!!' and then, about half-way through, he's like 'Dude... if I read the credits I'm gonna find your name on the writing staff, aren't I?'
Girl Genius is AMAZING. I would rate it above Homestuck in the case of some chapters, particularly the one dealing with coffee. That and they ALWAYS update on-schedule. This pleases the Loor. That and there is a guy who regularly gets defenestrated, so what's not to love?

Yeah, I love the BR too, and it fits with Loor's fail-tacular aiming ability... If Jak ever handed her a gun, it's gonna be that or the scatter gun just because of her not so amazing skills.
