Description
EDIT: Now scanned!
Here's my entry for MizterSiah 's contest.
I was given the Stormy environment. So after thinking about it a lot, why not making a seagull Pokémon.
They're amazing birds with great resistance that are often seen fly against the wind, in the middle of a storm. In the ancient times they also used to help sailors find the shortest way to the coast. Also, there are many interesting folkloristic tales about seagulls, which were sometimes seen as good omens, sometimes like bringers of death sentences.
I liked these two so much that I also decided to officially include them in my Noslo region dex, I'm really satisfied with their design and concept.
And look at Coagull, with its little yellow raincoat, it's so adorable! X3
Hope you like them!
Name: Coagull
Type: Water/Flying
Species: Waterproof Pokémon
Height: 1"3' (0.40m)
Weight: 11 lbs (5kg)
Ability: Drizzle/Hydration
Gale Wings (Hidden Ability)
Fakedex entry:
Coagull don't like rain that much, so they tend to get nervous every time the clouds start to darken. They can sense a storm coming up to 2 hours before it hits the coast, so they're often found on ships and used as safety alarms. They're not yet good at flying, but their palmed feet enable them to wander around the wet deck without the fear of slipping.
Fun facts:
- Coagull is inspired to a Seagull in a raincoat;
- Its name is the combination of the words Raincoat and Seagull.
Name: Gullstrom
Type: Water/Flying
Species: Guiding Pokémon
Height: 2"3' (0.70m)
Weight: 33 lbs (15 kg)
Ability: Drizzle/Hydration
Gale Wings (Hidden Ability)
Fakedex entry:
Gullstrom are known to have very strong wings and great endurance. Whenever a storm comes, the other Pokémon hide and search for a shelter, while Gullstrom don't get discouraged and fly right across the tempest, even against the wind - for that, they're also known to be stubborn and sometimes reckless. Lost sailors look for their bright yellow feathers and often ask Gullstrom to help them get closer to the coast safely.
Fun facts:
- Gullstrom is inspired to a Black-headed Seagull ;
- Its name is the combination of the words Seagull and Maelstrom (a strong whirlpool formed by many currents among the coast of Norway)
Coagull evolves into Gullstrom at level 32

Great job on making two different and clear distinct water/flying fakemon lines based on sea birds.

A Pokemon with a water typing doesn't like rain? How ironic!

Yeah it was done on purpose. I liked the idea of these little Pokémon running around the deck, trying to not get their feathers soaked. I like to imagine they hate that feeling. XD

I got the Ancient Egypt and then I chose the Roman Empire. I already imagine some cool stuff involving Antony&Cleopatra or Ceasar&Cleopatra. <3
Your idea is spot on! It'll be great!
