Updated to a more efficient method of viewing. No need for a preview image and a separate download ><Tutorial was made for Photoshop CS2, but works, of course, with the newer versions ( still use this method :3)
Its for people who are sort of used to the basics of photoshop, so i guess its for intermediates, but in case some people dont know where certain functions are i've put screencaps of them in too n__n

a tutorial on making patterns, yeah, that sounds nice. though I wonder, where did you find the pattern that you used for this pic? I've been searching the world (actually just the internet) for nice patterns, but have yet not succeeded=/

xD actually i googled for fabric samples- you know, they took a photo of hte pattern for the catalogue, and its just one little square- and then i used photoshop to copy it and mirror it, so the middle matched up, then mirrored it vertical so the middle matched up, then merged them all into one layer, and just kept doing that untill i had an A4 page of the pattern, then changed te colours to suit myself, and altered the contrast/brightness and all that jazz to suit me.

This tutorial is pretty clear to me.

I don't know...! Most of the time I don't really have a full plan when I start doing something. This last project took me around a month, so I'm a little spent on ideas atm. Anything you did would be helpful! Everything I learn about cg art seems to tie in with many different programs and situations. I think I'd be happy with anything you wanted to do.

One thing I just ran into was Photoshop complaining that my scratch disc was full when I tried to crop a picture with 300ppi set as the resolution. I had to clear the resolution field in the crop tool to get it to cooperate. Do you know anything about this quirk?

That means your hard drive is filling up :B and you need a certain amoutn of space free for it to use as scratchd disks (its processing space kinda)
