Description Finally I managed to drag myself back to my desk and draw something...! Freaking lazyness...!

I was looking back at some of my older DAR sketches and I wasn't that happy anymore with Oru's design, lskaori.deviantart.com/art/DAR… so I made his sparce headfeathers more... feathery and less ridicolous (at least to me) I'm not exactly sure how he looks better, old design or this new sketch? You guys tell me!

As for the winter coat thing, I believed it could have been possible for some of the bigger dinosaurs to have some sort of seasonal feathers for mantain the body temperature more easily during the colder months which then they would shed like some nowdays animals do. It seems interesting enough to me, so if the story probably lasted almost a year, Tio would have seen the unusual sight of Oru getting gradually fluffier while the little brat would have grown actually from the size of a turkey to the one of a horse or a bit more, but that's not our case.

The colors are mostly unchanged, so I didn't feel the need of doing it this time, but damn, I hate losing habits of drawing and doodling for time to time. And that freaking empty space... bah...! I need to be more energic next time, bring in the caffeine!

Anyway, what do you guys think? Should I keep the old design or this newer one?

Stuff used: B and B1 pencils.

Oru and Tio are (c) by Dingo Pictures

Oh, my! The fluffyness is killing me! X3 I remember that, even if now looks like dinosaurs were warm-blooded, or that's what scientists say since they were way too active compared to nowday's reptiles. Oh, well, fluff is needed anyway in colder areas and times. If the chinese cousin of the T-Rex could have fluff, why not the american one? : D

Thanks! Should I keep the old version or this one? I bet his feathers are awesome for writing on parchments XD

Welcome! Hrmm... I don't know... he looks a lil more friendly on this picture than on the old one. Maybe you could keep the old design and use it as an alter ego version of Dar?

I admit I wanted to avoid people to think the few feathers were a sign of him going bald because of old age I won't completely erase the old one because of he color palette. And... sorry, but DAR is the name of the series (Dinosaur Adventure Remake) the T-Rex's name is Oru actually. Sorry again.

It's okay. I just wanted to avoid for the mistake to happen and... I needed a little help for cover any possible mistake I might have done with the neck's curve. Don't worry about that, I should have explained that in the description.

That would be so cool if dinosaurs like these guys had summer and winter feathers, just like birds. Β Also, it makes them look swagtacular.

Ehi, anything could be possible since we keep making new discoveries (like traces of the feather's pigments) so since some lived in areas with a more prominent seasonal change, I think maybe in some cases it could work.

Agreed. Β It might work in colder climates.

Yeah, like at the poles. Antarctica used to be a place with very harsh seasonal changes, kinda like Russia, Alaska, Canada and Scandinavia.

There are actually very ancient maps that show it without ice.

At this rate, climate change is going to melt all the ice in Antarctica, and leave us in the snow.
