Description
“One of my personal favorites, this day brings us the Botan race. Another major player in the plant based species. On another note, we are about one sixth of the way there!”“Botan; [Botan]”
“Botan are the most recognizable of the plant based species, as they combine the aspects of various plants, flowers, roots, and trees. Moveover they are incredibly strong due to harnessing the power of nature. Also I think they are very cute. Botan have a lengthy lifespan of 1200 years, and similar to Mycans, grow stronger upon reaching their 1200th year, to live another 1000 years. Which makes them one of the oldest races in Estea, being able to witness centuries of history in their life. An interesting fact about Botan is that, other than absorbing nutrients, Botans are carnivorous. It is believed that Botan have Naturia Magic flowing through their veins.”
“Dryad; [Drahy-uhd]”
“Dryads are people of the trees, and thus, live in forests, taigas, and other various woodlands. Dryads have an average height of 6 feet and 3 inches or 1.91 meters. Physically, Dryads bear tough bark on their arms and legs, forming into powerful claws and the like. Moreover, their hair is leavelike, sometimes barbed as well. As all Botan, Dryads can use powerful Naturia Magic, with their usage being used to repel wouldbe deforesters and the like who would deliberately harm the environment. Socially Dryads prefer solace, living in small groups in the forests they inhabit, but it isn’t rare to see one in civilization, let alone very friendly. Dryads are a stern follower of the “live and let live” belief and don’t base opinions on the race of an individual. However, due to recent history, they enjoy the presence of Elves, but dislike Slab Mycans and Humans.”
“Alraune; [Al-raune]”
“Alraune are the most popular variant of Dryads, and as I’ll explain, it would be easy to see why. Alraunes are people of flowers and fronds, growing to an average height of 6 feet and 2 inches or 1.88 meters. Physically, Alraunes are very humanike, with their skin being anywhere in the Human’s spectrum, to more flowerlike colors, like pink and red. Their hair is vine-like, with leafy fronds growing as bracers for their arms and legs. Their bodies emit a light eroma that can easily produce endorphins in the recipient. Socially, Alraunes are very different from other Botan, preferring the company of anyone not plantlike. Alraunes are incredibly friendly and frankly clingy to whoever they meet, using their Naturia Magic to attract attention and keep the spotlight focused on them. Also they have a tendency to be indecent, refusing to wear clothes at times. It is reasonable to believe that Alraunes are more related to Procubi than flowers. Although Alraunes enjoy all races, they enjoy Elves and Humans the most.”
“Mandragora; [Man-druh-gawr-uh]”
“Finally, Mandragoras are the last variant of Botans. Mandragoras live in grasslands and forests. They have an average height of 6 feet and 2 inches, or 1.88 meters. As Mandragoras are the people of roots, they make burrows underground, where they spend the most of their time. Physically, they have long tough arms, with stubbed legs, as well as a tail, unique to the other Botan. Moreover, Mandragoras can emit a powerful scream, easily capable of causing deafness, temporary paralysis, and death. Socially, these Botan are aggressive introverts, often hostile solely due to someone refusing to leave them alone. It is a rare sight to see one in groups, let alone civilization; but it is an amazing sight to see one happy, as they only ease up and show their true feelings when either alone or by a very trusted friend. Although it may not seem like it, Mandragoras are indifferent to other races.”
“These lovely plantfolk are always an interesting bunch, by either their strengths or individual personalities. However, even though Botan can seem kind or reasonable, caution must still be taken as they can hold a grudge for an absurdly long time. From either witnessing a hateful crime, or when you're starving in the dead of night, and in an act of pure desperation, eat one, only one, of their meals. Even though it was already decided that we would go shopping the day after, the grudge is held nonetheless. Rambling aside, Botan are a race with incredible capabilities of lifespan, power, and morals.”
