Description
Woooo! First tutorial!Ok. Me = Big Star Wars Freak. I went on Tutorial Outpost and saw a saber blade tut on there and thought "I can make it shinier than that!" so here you are. My method of using colour balancing to make a nice saber blade. Also good for any energy weapon, neon lights, magic spells, and hard core TRON fans. That last one is basically just me then. lol.

Thanks. The handle is actually a 3d rendered model of one I have at home. I figured it would be good practice for my modeling.

Glad I could be of help. It also works very well for any glowing circuitry you may make such as something like Tron.

S'ok. It's murder rotoscoping that onto film though. I did it on a short animation piece for my university course and it took me 3 days working from 8:00am to 1:00am the next morning.

You're very welcome. I kinda kept the secret to myself a while and saw the others aren't really getting the pure energy effect.
I can also make the same effect in 3DSMAX if that is of any help to you.

Yes....Thank god they released those for free! Although photoshop doesn't like the DarkStar skin because it makes a fat border around photoshop and makes the tools complain for some weird reason.
