And that doesn’t techanlly make the Sega console more popular. The Nintendo console was still technically and factually more popular than the Sega console so no. Sega still couldn’t do what Nintendon’t.

Yeah, yeah.

Big boy Nintendo sure needs you to defend their honor.

For your information, brave "white knight", games for Sega Genesis are STILL made.

Do you realize that with all these comments under SIX YEARS OLD picture you look like mindless fanboy?

I am gonna hide your answers to rest of comments here,

because it's FUCKING RUDE to stick your nose in someone's else discussion.

Come on, bunny lady, don't scare too much the poor Mario! He looks like he can't take too much of your... uhhh... over-energetic celebration (?)!

God, there's just something about this SEXY lady bunny I like so much... ...maybe it's her ears. Anyways, I think both Nintendo and Sega have some great stuff.

(P.S.: I'm NO gamer, so don't take it out on me if nobody/most people don't share my opinion from above, okay? PEACE!!!! )

The great irony is that the Mega Drive/Genesis was much, much more popular outside of Japan than in its own country, as the Genesis had to compete against the already entrenched TG-16/PC Engine, which was only released after the Genesis/Mega Drive outside of Japan.

I love my SNES, but Phantasy Star IV is still probably one of my favorite games of the era.

By the way Sega Mega Drive is STILL (I mean right now) very popular in Latin America.

Lol damn those are some hard facts.

Hm a Soviet styled Megadrive would be cool. Red casing and the hammer sickle thing where the logo would be.

Didn't the Master System last a long ass time in South America?

Fuck what everyone else is sayin'. I was always a Sega kid, even up with the Saturn and Dreamcast when I knew they were losing the war. Maybe I should've lived in the USSR?

I am also Sega kid. Me and my friends (and most of USSR gamers) have no idea who Link is

It was a hard time, growing up without Legend of Zelda... having to borrow a friend's Super Nintendo to play A Link to the Past, and not even playing Ocarina of Time until I was in my late twenties. But Sonic was there for me for years... until it turned pretty stupid. Sonic racing in a car? Turning into a werewolf? What the hell? Finally I found the WiiWare of Sonic 4 and that was actually worth playing.

Hey, I loved Sega too. I miss my Saturn and Dreamcast terribly. They just made too many expensive mistakes.

Sega Saturn (especially Japanese one) had SO many awesome games.
Like Princess Crown, Dragon Master Silk, Dragon Force etc

Dualmask In reply to LucidARTDVC [2013-01-05 22:11:08 +0000 UTC]

Ah yes, Dragon Force. I didn't get to play many Saturn games, but among the ones I did, Dragon Force and Guardian Heroes offered the fondest memories.

Yeah, them's fightin words man XD
This is like a dog nibbling on one's ankle. Or boasting about a battle won after the war is lost.

Especially considering Nintendo did the one thing that SEGA couldn't do, survive as a successful game developer.

LucidARTDVC In reply to MasterOkiAkai [2013-01-05 07:29:07 +0000 UTC]

Exactly

Still Sega produced Total War series, Virtual Fighter, Yakuza etc.
And Sega still can deliver. Google sometimes "sega urinal video game"

Oh sure, and they built a reputation for developing a lot of innovative technology first, but it took everyone else to perfect it and profit.
Every a blind squirrel catches a nut once in a while, doesn't make them good at it. Squaresoft would have been bankrupt if not for a desperate last ditch effort called FInal Fantasy (ironic title) but even that has about run its course.
I mistakenly said software developer, should have said game manufacturer.
They've got half a dozen games in development right now and only two of them hold any promise and those are based on pre-existing properties.
Sonic, pachinko and potty pong can't carry them forever.

However to be completely fair i rather hope that Phantasy Star and ALIENS can. *cross fingers*

Are you crazy, man? This is exactly the kind of inflammatory statement that will start a war! Seriously, though, I love Bunny's costume in the first panel.

Not anymore At least I hope this won't start

Thank you.
Blue variation of Russian traditional costume is usual to Shegurochka, granddaughter of our Santa.

Wow, neat. I just read a whole bunch about the Snow Maiden. She has an interesting story. I like how Russians adapted her (and Ded Moroz) so that they could have at least a version of Christmas under communist rule. Very clever!
