Description
So this is my final project (a work-in-progress, obviously) for my drawing class. It's not due until Dec. 9th, buuuuut I wanna get it done ASAP-- it's now the anniversary of when my mom died, and this is the time of year my depression runs the highest. Combine this anniversary with various other events that have happened recently (mainly my health and having to put my cat to sleep a couple weeks ago), it hasn't been easy emotionally. So, I'm trying to keep myself as busy as possible, because if I stop, I'll just shut down. ._.But yeah. Anyway. x_X
The assignment is to do a self-portrait (through direct observation) that at least also contains a hand or a foot, using charcoal, on white paper or grey/brown toned paper.
This is done of grey toned paper, with just vine charcoal so far. Will be using charcoal pencil, white charcoal pencil, and white chalk later on. Not sure if I like this paper so far (my first time using grey), because the vine isn't erasing as cleanly as I'd like. Though it shouldn't be noticeable in the completed project, so I guess that's a moot point.
I had originally intended to fit my feet in there, but it didn't proportionally work out once I got there. >_> Ah, well. Still got a hand in there.
The papers are going to have a poem written on them (my poem "I Am Nobody." . It's old, but I still like it, and it's at least a decent poem of my own creation, so.), my intention being to get people to keep looking at the piece rather than just glancing at it. It's going to be kind of a busy piece, but I want this to be another piece I'm truly proud of. So.
I'll probably scrap this particular deviation once I'm actually done, but yeah. Wish me luck, and if anybody has any suggestions, it'd be nice to hear them. owo
