Wow, that's amazing. I really love what you've done with those venus flytraps-- the details are so lovely, I end up staring and constantly looking for more surprises.
I guess... for stories... It makes me feel like we're from the main character's point of view-- the princess he's fallen in love with is ill and those flowers can save her, but they're protected by some force that's trying to trick him into seeing the princess so he doesn't see the traps that are going to eat him...? That's why she looks sad, because the princess doesn't want the hero to approach because she'd rather die than him...
:3 Just thought I'd give my input, it's a beautiful piece~

I have to decline for a story right now since I need my brainmeats for my midterm essay, but I love how beautiful and surreal/eerie this is when you really look at the details.

Seina didn't want to go into the woods - wasn't that supposed to be father's chore?
But alas, mother had demanded it, so into the woods did she go, axe in hand. She doubted she'd use it. For the greater part, she usually picked up old pieces of wood that had already fallen from the tree. Dead limbs that could no longer hold up their smaller branches, and the many branches that fell to the ground on their own - it was the dry season, so all was well.
Though she often complained about it, Seina loved the woods. She often thought of it as a mythical place, filled with small fairies that disguised themselves as butterflies and little imps that stood still to blend in with tree stumps.
She went to her usual clearing - only to stop short. What devilry was this?
At first, she'd thought it was just a beautiful woman - royalty, perhaps - surrounded by butterflies. Her second thought was that the woman was perhaps a member of the fairy royalty. She was, after all, surrounded by butterflies. Who knew how many of them were disguised fairies?
But then the insect-eating plants became active snapping at the poor little butterflies. Seina felt as though each butterfly let out a silent scream as those powerful plants clasped their jaws shut around them.
She shuddered. And then the woman offered her the small bouquet she held in her arms. Seina was tempted to go forward. In fact, she almost did, so taken was she with the beauty of the woman and the accented flowers that she held. Instead, the sudden bright red burned into her eyes, and when she looked again, she saw ribbons - blood-colored ribbons - flowing from the bouquet.
She shivered and took a step back. Then another. The further she got away, the less beautiful the woman seemed. Now, she could see the mass of roots and greenery that supported the woman's upper half.
The temptress raised a hand towards her, as if to beckon her forward, but Seina shook her head violently, both to blur the image and the reject the woman and all thoughts of her.
She turned tail and ran, dropping the axe somewhere along the path.
When she told her mother about this disturbing experience, she received a clout to the head.
"No excuses!" her mother scolded. "You probably fell asleep at the clearing and dreamed it all up!"
What could she do? She couldn't contradict her mother, after all. Instead, she obediently nodded, simply going about her tasks - but she did her best to avoid that clearing.
Finally, her father spoke to her about the tale - it seemed her mother had passed it on to him.
They went together, and Seina felt much better about returning with her father. Much better than when she'd considered going back alone, anyways.
When they got there, though, there was only an enormous depression in the center of the clearing where the woman had been, and there were smaller ones all around.
The woman and the insect-devouring plants, however, were gone. Seina would have believed it all to be a part of her imagination if not for the holes, and the single blood-red ribbon she found.

Just wanted to give it a shot. >< Since your pictures are so beautiful, I'm afraid to bother even attempting to critique them. It's much easier to come up with lil' shorts about 'em instead. >_<

It seems like if you ate at her banquet you'll lose your memory on how to get home and who is important to you.
I really like this piece its very beautiful and the colors really draw my eyes in. The last thing I saw was her face. It looks like she is keeping a secret.

She was once baeutifull, innocent, and sweet but she fell pray to the plant who promised who eternul youth, life, and beauty. In a way it did keep it's promise.
Now the girl is a trapped doll, used by the plant to gather meat. The butterflies since the girl still trapped inside and come to her, as all butterflies are attracted to innocent beauty, but then the plant eats and devours them.
The girl is a living tool, the plant is the shadowed evil using her to get what he whants, and the butterflies is what he whants but couldnt get otherwise; they are happpiness. The plant is depression, butterflies happiness, and the girl is the one caught in the middle; being dragged down and corned by the depression.

i think it means that most things in this world are beautiful for a reason, and that reason is to real people in with the perception that something is beautiful when underneath, most things, are just a carnivorous plant.

Funny, but the title and settingr eminds me of the world's largest flower, a massively ugly thing (which is ironic, b/c your pic is definately not!) that attracts pollinators by reeking of rotting flesh. Perhaps a demon's curse is the reason why...

That would give a more specific base for your storytellers, though. Well, assuming they are aware of the plant lol!

I see her as a furious demon. Not a sad one. She is not looking for pity. She is not upset with her situation. She is looking for prey. What calls people closer than a few tears from a beautiful lady?
Lovely work as always. <3

Yay! Story time! (I love venus flytraps; my fav plant!)
Okay, so there were some flytraps, eatin' up bugs like the usually do, but they just weren't gettin' enough grub. They started producing scents to attract small rodents, and then they grew...but then they needed more food. So then it was larger prey, maybe birds and lizards...then tigers and such, and eventually...humans.
But what would draw people into the forest? No woman would go in by herself, but a man might, and what better way to attract a man than with a woman...?
Heehee, this picture kinda made me think of my own character, although she's nothing like this, and the picture's no where NEAR that detailed! (In case you wanna see: [link] [link] )

beautiful!!! My story goes along the line of the others... She is intended to lure people there so they can be devoured by the plants. Things is, I don't think she likes that. She looks sad and lonely. And the white aura around her implies that she is peaceful or it could be that everything about her is designed to lure people so that her peaceful aura will instead attract people.
I do have to agree with you though.. I don't know if I like the red ribbons too much, they confuse me a little.. perhaps if there was less of them? Greta job though!

She looks very sweet and innocent, maybe like she is under a spell and trapped in this garden. She sings beautiful songs to lure butterflies to her, feeding her hidden fly traps. Sometimes she lures bigger prey to herself... Like a succubus... She's really gorgeous.

She was to be a young bride until her arranged disappeared only to reappear with a new wife of great beauty by side. The shame was great and all her family felt it's blow. She removed herself from the public's eye and only rarely ventured into her family's company. The deepest wish of her heart was to be able to find a peaceful place where she could forget all her woes. One day that wish was granted and she was forever allowed to tend her garden to eat that feeds upon the souls of those who have betrayed the love of another. It is said that only one pure of heart can free her from what has become a prison by taking her bouquet and replacing her as the garden's keeper.
Bleh, I know it's choppy and doesn't completely add up :/ sorry...it was a quick one. The hubby is still half asleep so asking him questions about his stay in japan didn't end too well...at least I had a good laugh at his strange answers 0.o anyways! Beautiful picture and well done ^.^

i thought it was like a illusion kind of thing. although the venus flytraps are arranged in a nice way and all the butterflies (the good things) are attracted to them, they get eaten up in the end. it's like something that looks good (to someone) might actually be poison (harmful). and i guess it's the same for the girl.
another way i see it is the girl is trapped in that space...and she's pretty and all but it's hard to reach her because of the flytraps...like survival of the fittest? or sacrifice is essential before getting what you want?
