Latest version of minibin is 6.1.1.3, and it no longer includes your icon pack, nor does it support custom icons.

It supports custom icons. I will upload mine soon, so you can choose them to use with Minibin

It supports custom icons, but it doesn't come with any. To set custom icons, configure>change icons>choose icon you want to change and it will open up an explorer window to choose an ico file. Unfortunately, since these icons are not actually included in the download from deviantart, I can find no way to currently use them

Hey, I like your work, it's very clean. I wanted to use your minbin icons but when I download them all I get is a text file stating the following:

THIS ICONS ARE INCLUDED IN MINIBIN SETUP

- Please download Minibin from www.e-sushi.net
- Once you install Minibin, you can go to the traybar icon, right-click select Theme > David Minimo and that's all!

I know minbin isn't your software but I do not see the "Theme" option. Can you assist?

Hey.
Once you're running minibin soft, right click and go to "Configure" and you will see a Theme option. Choose "Minimo by David Bianco" and you're ready to go. This is for Minibin 3.8...
The current version of minibin is 6.1 (and I don't know if it still supports custm icons...)
Please go to www.e-sushi.net to check the docs.

It still supports custom icons but does not come with any pre-installed. It would be a huge help if you could re-upload your icons so that people could use them!

Great theme, man!

I rather enjoy the way the bin is enharmonic to the battery, while at the same time the varied pixels on the 'Full' icon differentiate it enough. Definitely well thought-out. <3

Can you put the program in the .rar and re-upload to this post?

ludomatico In reply to Little-Whittle [2011-11-05 02:13:36 +0000 UTC]

Hi.
You can download it from here (the iste is working): [link]
I canno't make MiniBin downloadable from here, because copyright of the developer.

I know that some AV programs could block MiniBin, but it's a clean software (maybe your AV program detects it as a false positive)
Enjoy it.

I tried making it an "exception" in my AV and it will not allow. Oh well.

Re: I can't access that site. My AV is blocking it.

And what AV might that be?

Scanning e-sushi.net shows 0/16 detections: [link]
Scanning e-sushi.net/minibin/ shows 0/16 detections: [link]

So, the site comes up clean. If your "AV" is blocking it, you definitely need to dump your AV and get a decent one. The fact that your AV doesn't allow you to create exceptions only underlines the fact that your AV is lacking in several areas!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Little-Whittle In reply to memoras [2011-11-13 18:24:09 +0000 UTC]

Thanks but I don't need AV advice. I appreciate gesture though. My AV is a bi over protective with the firewall. Normally when I add a website to the trusted list, it works. This is the first time. Which is why I will not consider dumping my AV for one small thing like this. Sunbelt VIPRE has been a very good and very reliable AV. Thanks again, my mind is set.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

memoras In reply to Little-Whittle [2011-11-15 16:00:47 +0000 UTC]

Writing you don't need AV advice is contradicted by the fact that you are - as you stated yourself - unable to configure a relevant website exception for Sunbelt VIPRE.

Besides, it's not VIPRE's integrated "antivir" nor the integrated "firewall", but VIPRE's "webfilter" that's bugging you. So it's WebFilter thing, not a Firewall or AntiVir thing. (Duh!)

And even if a WebFilter would be an AntiVir (which it can't be by definition), there are at least 16 reasons that prove your system security is not as it should be .

No need for AV advice? From a professional point of view, I have to disagree.

But that's actually not the only thing. To me, the scary part begins when you start sounding like a noob talking about a "website blocked by your AntiVir" (remember: it's your WebFilter), being unable to configure an exception for VIRPE's webfilter and therefore being unable to download the program and whatever.

You even go as far as to ask for someone to upload a copy here at deviantart to help you out. I mean, are you serious?

I can't imagine you are lacking the knowledge that you can download software from other websites too, or are you? There are more than a dozen alternative download locations, where MiniBin is freely available. All of them are well known and respected websites... as one of many examples, "download.cnet.com/MiniBin/3000-2094_4-75451640.html?tag=mncol;1 " comes to mind.

See? No drama needed! Simply use one of the many search engines and be happy to find alternative download locations for whatever you can't access or - like in your case - are scared to access due to the lack of knowledge.

But you probably don't care anyway, do you? Therefore, I'll simply acknowledge the fact that your mind is set and that's OK with me. If you are convinced that you don't need any advice from anyone, I'm not going to be the one opening your eyes. I have stopped fighting ignorance and egos a long time ago.

From my experience, people being blind for advice will get kicked by Realityβ„’ - I'm just hoping for you that you have clean backups when that day comes.

Peace out!

lol I love how you follow up that long judgmental retort with

"But you probably don't care anyway, do you? Therefore, I'll simply acknowledge the fact that your mind is set and that's OK with me. If you are convinced that you don't need any advice from anyone, I'm not going to be the one opening your eyes."

It's just a sys tray recycle bin, not the end of the world. Relax!

Thanks again, best of luck to you.

I don't know what AV you have, but I suggest you to use an excellent, light and free one: Microsoft Security Essentials. It's from Microsoft, and it's free, and works better than any crapware that exists in the market...

To use your own icons with minibin, simply copy two (2) icons to the directory where minibin.exe resides. One icon should be called "empty.ico", the other one "full.ico". Done! When minibin runs, it looks for these icons. When minibin does not find them (or if anything goes wrong) minibin will always fall back to using the internal icons. Tip: make sure the icons include 16x16 format for best display results. You can find some example icons, kindly provided by David Bianco - in the "examples" folder where minibin resides.
