Description
Manarola, Cinque Terre - Italy.Manarola is one of the Cinque Terre, it means Five Lands, but a more appropiate translation is the Five Villages. They are, from east to west, Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.
The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides form the Cinque Terre National Park.
The Cinque Terre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site .

I wonder if anybody ever stumbled out of a bar and fell off the side of that cliff?

so, of the three thumbs you posted... this is perhaps the most interesting... but that's not saying anything about this photo... it looks very much like a photo any tourist might take at this place.
I like the colorful patchwork of buildings and the hints of the little people sitting by the water, sunbathing etc...
but really... I'm not sure this photo has much punch...
I suppose for certain folks it may make an interesting postcard?

You know, itβs funny, I was discussing a trip to Italy with some co-workers earlier today (though pointing more at Venice).
The blue sky renders a beautiful contrast against the Cliffside and I love the different colours in the houses. I could so see this shot as a postcard; itβs gorgeous!

Thank you so much for your comment!
Of course Venice, like Rome and Florence, are the first cities to come to mind when planning a visit to Italy, but Italy has so many less known treasures. There are some amazing places, like medioeval towns and small villages that deserve a visit too.
