Description Necrid from Soul Calibur II

"(Conviction 1)" ~ Necrid, Soul Calibur II

Drawn for the "ABC Round" of the FGE Challenge at
Necrid was one of the possible choices, and though Oro and Hakumen were pretty tempting, this guy was just too fun and interesting to draw >D
As you can probably guess, Necrid doesn't exactly seem like your usual SC character, he was actually pretty unique in many ways.

First, his design. He was actually designed specifically for this game by renowned comic artist Todd McFarlane, creator of Spawn. The Namco-Farlane deal was actually a bigger one, with Spawn appearing as a guest chara in the XB version of the game and Farlane's toy company manufacturing Soul Calibur figurines. And somewhere along the way this guy got created as well. And while he clearly stands out of the SC cast, his design was nothing short of awesome and unique.

Second, his weapon and moveset. His weapon, the "ethereal blade" was a shapeshifitng orb that could turn into any weapon othe other characters are using, and all of his moves and combos were made out of moves from other characters. Like starting the combo with Sophitia's moves and ending with one of Mitsurugi's, and to top it off, doing the Sophitia ones with Cervantes's weapon and the Mitsurugi ones with Nightmare's weapon, hope it makes sense cause that's the best description I can think of |D
And sure, some might brush it off as "lazy", hell, I myself would prefer if he got an actual weapon and his own style, but granted, it is an original take still... aaaaaand it's definitely far better than mimic characters, especially 3 in the same game XD

And third, his voice. How should I put it, his voice and all voice samples sound so incredibly "otherworldly" and badass, with his phrases being both deep, ominous and nigh impossible to pronounce, and his voice being fittingly deep, ominous and inhuman. As far as fictional languages in video games go, this be one of the best.
And the funniest part is, that all his lines are actually Mitsurugi's voice samples played backwards and with an altered pitch.

It's sad that he didn't appear after SC2. Don't know whether it was mainly due to Todd McFarlane and copyright but he was massively OP'ed. I don't mind an OP'ed character as long as I'm the one playing as it. He sure was fun to play as.

He was a bonus character for that part and that part alone. And it's not about copyrights as he was available again in SCII HD.
As for the OP part, that is an issue as OP characters and moves are nerfed for a reason

Wracają wspomnienia z wizyty w Uk w 2004...

Ciąglę nią gram,a ten jej czarny leotard, białe haori...wyglądają super cool i seksownie...
