The Wraith from Saturday SlamMasters II: Ring of Destruction (or just Ring of Destruction for short).

Well, what can I say about this one. I'm guessing a huge portion of you guys never heard about neither the character nor the game. A shame really, ROD was one of the cooler arcade brawlers back in the days, not as great as the top level of the genre such as Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, etc. but still far above the abyss of fighting game mediocrity. And while the first part was Capcom's pretty weak take on the wrestling genre, the sequel was turned into a fulltime fighting game (though with a few wrestling gimmicks), and one that's really worth your time.
The only problem was that this title was only ever released for the arcades, but that's nothing a good emulator can't fix, right? ;3

Also, since the game was a wrestling one at first, all the playable characters are naturally wrestlers, and here's where Capcom's skill at character creation comes to shine. Cause if you think about it, it does take skill to have a roster of only wretler-like grapplers and still make it diverse enough to make the charas unique and appealing, and even though there still were some boring ones like Biff Slamkovitch or Gunlock (the "Ryu/Ken" duo of the game, though nowhere as cool), we had some standard wrestler designs (yet each fleshed out enough to stand out) as well as some completely twisted ones like a wall-jumping luchador (El Stingray, back then he was the only such character), a kung-fu fighter in a biker helmet (Scorpion), a kabuki dancer turned wrestler (The Great Oni), a grenade-tossing soldier fighing with a shovel (Rip Saber), and then there's The Wraith here, a hooded undead wrestler who keeps snakes under his hood and attacks people with 'em. Seriously, if his theme wasn't awesome as is, he's got some of the best sprite animations for his time, and ones certainly creepy and twisted enough to fit his grotesque theme.

In which case, I really encourage you guys to try out this game if you get the chance, it's certainly a piece of fighting game history that's worth checking out.
