I use regular white computer paper (8.5x11). I draw my figures rather small. None of them ever take up the full page, which is why I have a lot of trouble coloring eyes sometimes...I have to keep the pencils super sharp in order to even add details to eyes. However, I solely truly this head for the purpose of the tutorial, so of course, I drew that a bit bigger (however, not very large). The head was about 4x6 inches...it allows me to add more detail, but its a lot harder to blend and shade because of the larger area.

Mmm... so normal paper and stuff? Wowz... having looked at the few pix in your gallery it looks like yeh use some larger paper to get better detail. Hmm... I hear yeh on keeping the pencils sharp though... and honestly i never really thought of that. Having a smaller image making it easier to blend colours. huh... I normally draw small-ish, about the size you do, though I never was any good with colouring that small. I'll have to give it more effort.

Questions:
1. What kind of paper did you use? The pencil colouring looked really smooth and I can't seem to get that quality with the type I use.
2. Do you usually sketch first and outline it with pen on the same sheet? Or trace?

1. I use regular Computer White Paper. However, mine are slightly more expensive than the norm and they're really really WHITE. Ah..I'm not sure what pencils you use. I use Prismas. I sometimes use crayola too...and I have to admit, I can't get the same effect as Prismas, but they're pretty damn close.
2. I outline on the same sheet. ^_^;; I used to trace, but now I have a cleaner sketch, so I can pretty much outline on the original sketch.

This really helps me with coloring with Color Pencils. I always have such trouble with them. My friend who does color well with them won't help me, but this tutorial helps! ^^
