Description
Mature tag necessary???????????????????Anyway, I took a little license with this design, but I think it came out sort of faithful to traditional descriptions...at least a little :I
I think I'm gonna try to get back on filling up the monster gallery.
I made a special folder for it months ago and only added like three to it since, but I'm seriously going to put a foot forward to make that little folder into a full out bestiary
Wish me luck!

Very fascinating look for the nuckelavee! Does its human torso ever pull itself up from that slouch?

OHHHHHHHHHH I know this creature!! Its supposed to be a skinless centaur right? The man part of this centaur is dead, pff, either that or really drowsy. Β Β That's cool how you did a bunch of twists to this creature. I'm into making monsters too so interesting to see other peeps into that as well. Β

I originally planned on making a whole bestiary tbh. I only stopped because...well, there were a lot of projects I had to discontinue at the time. Long story.
I never wanted to do just straight forward versions of these things though. I believe a good character designer (or monster designer) will find something unique and creative to add to their interpretation of it. I despise sharp departures from canonical lore (like running zombies) but if it's unique and justified and doesn't try to stand out by destroying the mythos of a creature too much, I think it's a successful design.
(Just to mention though, in the zombie comic i was drawing years ago, I did have running zombies, but that comic was meant to parody the idea of zombies in general heh)

This is perhaps my favorite representation of the dreaded beast! I was going to draw one myself, but seeing so many incredible designs has taken away from my incentive.

Whoa what? no way, do it anyway! If anything, it'd be good practice for your creativity muscles.

It's quite faithful, and I especially love the idea of the human "rider" looking dead, it adds a whole new level of eeriness.

I never could quite figure out which was the thinking portion of Nuckelavee.
Then again, maybe it alternates?
Ohh, I'm gonna write that one down
Thank you for giving me that inspiration

"On death and destruction is what you will get
When he's coming for you and your kilt you will wet.
And he's big and he's strong and its quite plain to see.
That this is the Tale of the Nuckelavee.
Nuckelavee! Oh Nuckelavee
You're big and evil and heinous
Who could it be who set you free?
He really must be an anus!"
And on the drawing - it's pretty awesome My favourite part is the floating flaming eye for some reason X)

"Oh, Nuckelavee, it's easy to see
The terror you leave, it's raining on me!
The village is burned, and the taverns are missed,
And the beer's all gone, and the elders are PISSED!"

Nah, I'm not that good)
It's a verse from a song "The tale of the Nuckelavee" from the game "The Bard's Tale". Patrons of the tavern sing it after he accidentally unleashes it and the thing proceeds to terrorize the villages X)
Here's a link to the song - [link]

The flesh looks pretty great, and the way you drew the tail and the skull is just incredible β₯
