Hey, everyone! Sorry that I have been MIA for several months now. Life's been getting the better of me and kind of kept me away from drawing for a long time. Back on the net now, and starting to draw again.My comeback is with a traditional piece!
My friend has this obsession with cuttlefish because she thinks they are super cute. While they do have a creepy factor in my opinion, I think they're sorta cute too. ^^ I had this idea for a mermaid and something post-apocalyptic in the background. But decided to take a brighter route with this image. Also, been getting a little more anal about putting backgrounds in my images. I feel like the reason why my pictures seem so lacking is because there is no background. So yeah...backgrounds. What is? XD
Does anyone want me to release this as a Print? I was thinking about it...but not sure if anyone would want it.

Yes, the aquariums is right. You should go back to see the kinds of fish they have now. They came up with some really weird things but they also have some neat things as well like: mermaids, dolphins and sharks with lasers on top of their heads. XD

I know how that is, I was hobo for months before I got back into art. ( Literally I was a hobo) But now i'm back to drawing and checking out other art. I'm always interested in marker work because I love markers. Copics are fun too because you can mess with them if you get some alcohol and just smear the page and add some diffused stuff, it's fun. Anyway back to you! Squid is cute, her arms seem a little short to me where the elbows are they usually come down to about the end of the rib cage. I donno what it's like down in Murmaid town but usually it's dark down low and lighter in color up top. I think it would've been nice to have the dark part of the water down by the sea creatures and coral. (But that would also eat the markers like a mo so you did fine) Did nice clean lines with the marker and the skin tone blend is very nice. Super crisp line art. Looks good.
