Charmander:
 "A recently created variant, they have gone through trying times due to mills and neglect, but have finally gotten back on track of being properly monitored and loved. Tiny and affectionate, this Charmander was discovered as an “accidental variant” of captive breeding the Common line that was further dived into. They have been bred to have positive mannerisms, even into their mid and final evolutions, as well as bred to have small flames to minimize any damage to young children."

Charmeleon: "Affectionate and inquisitive, their soft and smooth scales are said to shimmer when they are happy. The more vivid the Pygmy Charmeleon, the healthier it is. They feast themselves on primarily rich berries, which provide energy for when they will evolve into their final forms."

Charizard: "Its breathtaking wings are light reflective, and glisten during daylight hours. The "fake" flames that hang off on either side of its body are an odd but unique, as they are said to be distractions for predators and, should they ever be torn off, can actually grow back. These Charizard are the smallest variant of the species, being so small that they can easily rest on someone's head or shoulders much like a Pikachu may be able to."

Also called the “Pet” line by some, this is the most recent recorded variant of the Charmander species. And the one with the most controversy behind it. It was discovered from a genetic mutation that affected one Charmander upon hatching and being shockingly smaller than its siblings. From there, however, it took off in the pet industry as the “perfect Charmander to own”. Even more so than a Contest or Common line Charmander.

However, the line was quickly exploding out of control into an inbreeding issue with many people who were desperate to get such a cute and tiny creature. This led to many of the Pygmy line dying due to chronic genetic problems or growth development issues that rendered them in painful conditions of living and putting them down was the most humane thing to do. Reckless breeding and Pokemill breeding had led to thousands having breathing problems, heart issues, back problems, wing deterioration, and much more. It became a serious problem that the government and official breeding organizations started cracking down on the abusive mass breeding of the variant before it was too late to help. It’s taken quite some time, but there is finally a decreasing reporting of the line having issues, arrests of mill bosses, and take downs of greedy folks have allowed proper breeders to return back to the origins of the mutation and properly start over.

To those that properly raised and bred healthy Pygmys, they are sweet and very affectionate, eager to please, and hold no sense of aggression whatsoever. To toddlers, they are known to want to nest with them, and curl around them like little guard puppies. Their tail flames always stay small, and even as a Charizard, their flames never get bigger than the size of a few Pokecoins.

And yes, this variant can evolve, and this is where they also receive the nickname of the “Fairy dragons”, and fly around in spurts of energy. They do, however, have a large metabolism, so food and water is constantly needed for them to survive. One way to get around this is to have sugar sweetened honey water, as it will compensate both food and water intake for them.

The average Pygmy charizard is so small, that they equal to the size of a runt Raichu, which is not that much bigger than a full grown Pikachu. This means Pygmy Charizard are able to lounge on a trainer’s shoulders with ease, as they are also very light in weight.

To many trainers and breeders alike, this pokemon is strictly a pet or contest only pokemon, as they are too easy to take down in battle currently; however, some are trying to breed stronger version of the line, but only time will tell for their succession in that, as they still have to follow the new laws and regulations that go into breeding these adorable creatures after what nearly costed them their entire healthy lives with previous reckless regulations.

And there it is! The last variant completed of the Charmander species that I have! I have had a blast making all these creatures, and the positive responses from my initial post and all the other headcanon lines has given me hope of trying to tackle some more pokemon in the future like this! I usually take small breaks inbetween big projects like this, but don't worry! More will come in due time ;u;

Main inspiration for these lil guys were fairy dragons themselves, as well as, surprisingly, hummingbirds! I've always loved how beautiful the two are, and I've always wondered what Charizard would've looked like if it was far smaller than the original concept of it is uvu
