Wisteria: Cares for her very much, wants to see her safe and happy. He understands her painful past in some ways, and wants her to be able to live her life without her terrible anxiety.
Cordelia and Relix: Loathes his parents for the abuse they caused, is happy to never see them again but does still know where they live. He is thankful they gave him a reasonable education however, they could have been worse.
Bulbrax: Respects him for his spite hunting skills but doesn’t particularly like him. He finds the Quill a bit too rude and abrasive for his liking, but understands that spite hunting is hard, taxing work.

✦ History:
Garret was born to a wealthy family in a town near Wynsiph, the firstborn heir to the Erendor name. He was, however, born with a condition that made him unable to feel pain. He would constantly injure himself by accident, which is how his parents found out. They hated that there was something wrong with him, that he was no longer the perfect heir they so desired. While they gave him his education and taught him proper manners, they were extremely harsh, criticizing and punishing him for even the smallest mistakes. The most common of these punishments was being locked in a closet for extended periods of time, ranging anywhere from ten minutes to multiple hours. They’d never let him out early regardless of his begging and crying, and would just leave him on his own until they thought the message had gotten through his head.

He was not allowed to play with other Wynlings on the rare occasion he was allowed out at all. When he was, he was bullied under the pretense that he could be knocked around for the heck of it because Garret wasn’t able to feel the pain of the attacks anyway. His parents used that excuse as well, and would beat him whenever they got annoyed with him or were just having a bad day. He faced verbal, physical, and mental abuse on almost a daily basis, and it was rare to find him without some kind of scrape or bruise.

Eventually Garret came up with a plan to escape, finally taking a stand against his horrible conditions. He packed a bag with money and supplies, escaping in the middle of the night while his parents slept. He got a ride from a traveling merchant, hopping on the wagon and not caring where it took him. He eventually wound up in Wynsiph, taking up residence at the Nook. There he mostly kept to himself, but some bold Wynlings still liked to mess with him once they found out about his condition. However, after getting away from his previous situation he vowed to himself that he’d never lay down and be a punching bag again, that he’d take charge of his own life and lead himself to victory.

He made some friends at the Nook, mainly with a passive girl named Wisteria, but his stay was cut short when he took up an apprenticeship with a spite hunting guild. He had found his calling, and made it his goal to use his skills to protect others. He was a star student and quickly rose through the ranks as he grew, becoming very skilled in many fighting techniques. After the great deelagun attack his job became ever more important with spites now running around town from the lack of a Nova tree. He is serious with his work and does job passionately and without fear.

Garret is a calm, no-nonsense kind of fellow, not afraid to speak his mind and show his point of view. He tends to talk with a flat, bored sounding voice that conveys little emotion, and keeps his body language nearly unreadable. He’s intelligent and analytical, able to stay level headed in tense situations and make split second decisions under pressure. He does not stand for injustice, and doesn’t care if he comes across as cold or rude. He does try to be polite, but will not hide his disdain for someone if they rub him the wrong way. He is a tough teacher when it comes to coaching someone, but he makes sure to teach them the best skills he can to see then succeed in their goals, even if his methods can be rigorous.
