This feathered beasty is making me crave lattes.
I've realized something about myself, and its that I feel satisfaction and peace when I bring order to chaos. Whether it be cleaning an overly messy studio space, or turning random paint swirls and streams into birds, it brings me peace.

Masonite is a type of reconstructed wood that is very hard, so it yields a beautifully smooth surface to paint on when primed properly.

Amazing what you did out of the wip! I really love the background and the sepia colors of the owl. Will you do more works with this method? I'd love to see more versions of it! (Maybe a bird series?

Barn owls! I miss these little floofs, omg.
I agree, some of the most therapeutic forms of art are the paintings that come from random blobs. Free from constraints and pressure, it all just flows out! I love the soft yet rough feeling behind this painting. The values work wonderfully and as always I'm digging the texture. My favorite part of this piece is the contrast between the spacey swirls and tiny feather details... it blends together so beautifully, like a properly-made latte aahaha. Splendid work overall, Dani! <3
