Description
Every once and a while I paint something that I actually want to show to the world because I am so proud of it.This is one of those pieces.
Its a contest entry for for their Endangered Africa contest. I chose, obviously, the cheetah.
I aimed for those pleading eyes, those "save me" eyes.
The colours seem a bit off here on my computer, they're more golden-brown in real life.
Painted with acrylics on a 11"x14" canvas <3

And every once and a while I view a painting that is simple amazing and really touches the heart. And this is definitely one of those paintings!
The emotion is gorgeous. I find the reflection in the eyes particularly interesting... I can't help but wonder what he or she is looking at. Absolutely fantastic work!

Haha I have no idea what the reflection is! Originally I was going to paint protest signs in the reflection, like "save the cheetahs" or something along those lines, but I just couldn't fit it in. Painting would have had to be larger.

beautiful work. I've never been able to get that kind of depth or richness out of acrylics, its gorgeous, congrats, this is great work. The textures are outstanding, the depth and reflections in the eye are beautiful and well executed*imho*, and the emotion conveyed through the expression is both incredible and haunting.
