This is an entry for
Why do I love tigers?
Because I want to be one.
They're beautiful, graceful, strong. Qualities I wish for myself. Who wouldn't want to be one?
Okay, obviously I don't want to be be a tiger. I rather like having opposable thumbs. But still. For poetry's sake.
India ink is currently my favorite medium. That stuff is amazing, I'm such a fan. All of this is india ink except for the eyes, which are coloured pencil. Oh and there is a bit of white acrylic, whiskers and eye highlights.
Sooo going to be using this stuff more.
I'd really appreciate any sort of feedback on this piece. I'm very proud of it.

What IS you form of India ink? Are yours, let's say...pens, or markers, almost? Then WHERE THE HECK DID YOU GET THEM?!?!?! Because this is beautiful. Purely. This is what beauty IS.

Its actually liquid ink in a bottle, and I use a brush to apply it. So far its my favorite method for ink.

This is a stunning, seamless combination of mediums! Gorgeous blending with the India ink; your control over the light, mid-tone, and dark areas mimics real fur wonderfully. I especially love the attention to detail over the right (viewer's left) eye, on the whisker pads, and the nose.
Those eyes are mesmerizing, like marbles set directly on the artwork. You have a right to be proud of this piece!

I really like tigers a lot! I find their eyes to be very powerful, and the colors that you used in this one's eyes are very nice. Also, I like the subtlety of the heart shape under the right eye that also in some way is reminiscent of a tear drop.
Perhaps I'm analyzing it too much, but I would like to think it's all about the symbolism and sadness of the diminishing tiger population. (sorry for rambling.)

I adore tigers as well (the more I paint them, the more I realize this).
